X and C only work if you press them in time to the beat. You have a minute to beat the entire game. Post your score if you beat it. |

Looks interesting, though. This reminds me that I wanted to play Axelay, but couldn't get the damn emulator to run it right. Only overhead shooters I've ever been especially good at I can count on my hand, though. Raptor, Ikaruga, Centipede, and Twin Cobra. Raiden is kind of a close relative to TC, though, so I'm not so bad at it. Do you have much experience playing shooters like this, Karg? |

Using the machinegun in this game is kinda dangerous as it sounds like a light snare tap for every shot and you can't hear the big beat. I've played a fair few indie shmups, but they've mostly come from either Cactus (the maker of this game) or Kenta Cho. I'd recommend having a go at Clean Asia by Cactus - it's a shmup with some pretty interesting mechanics (one of the craft doesn't even have a shoot button). (Don't expect to beat China in-game. Even Cactus himself has trouble.) Cactus Arcade is a good place to start for checking out Cactus's stuff ( CACTUSQUID.com // GAME DESIGN by JONATAN SÖDERSTRÖM ). Kenta Cho ( ABA Games ) has a good collection too - L.A.2 is Conway's Game Of Life Shooter Edition, and Mu-cade is kind like being a sumo snake with machinegun eyes. |
