Dearest PC Forumgoers, My laptop recently broke and I'm looking for a new one. It needs to be able to run games pretty well, but I don't want one of those gigantic ten-pound monsters. (I think my old one was six pounds or so, it was an Acer 5920G). So video card and processor speed are fairly important. At the same time I don't want it to cost too much, though it can be reasonably expensive if it's going to last me for several years. Any suggestions? Despite being the PC Mod, I don't actually know that much about the hardware. Your advice is much appreciated. Sincerely, PT |

Though PC gamer usually have some great tips for this and i think they have a good opinion in those things, as much as possible as cheap as possible. |

It allows you to max out the parts you care about and keep the others at a minimum, but I doubt it's the cheapest way to go as a whole. |

I'm not sure why you'd want a gaming laptop anyways, aside from LAN parties and playing World of Warcraft during lectures. | |

This is after several fixes at a different store failed to actually repair it. I think the graphics card and/or the motherboard are messed up. I mean, I also travel a fair amount and it's convenient to have a laptop. For one thing I'm going to be studying abroad next semester, so I can't bring a desktop there. I guess I could haul a desktop to college next fall. I'll consider it. edit: Yeah, well, looks like I am in fact that mobile that I need a gaming laptop. I'm still in college and all. I'll look around on PC Gamer and at the other stuff you guys recommended. Last edited by Prince Toad; 01-01-2011 at 05:30 PM. |

All the other manufacturers seemed to have major drawbacks in terms of gaming capability, portability, or other random ****. Asus seemed to be generally well reviewed and high-quality, and pretty cheap for what it was. About to order it. Thanks everyone. |
