DOTA 2 leaks, hilariously unfinished art assets included

Index Of.

Take a look. Now look down.
See the placeholders?

I hope they do that for all of them and make it DOTA 2's Birthday Mode.

See, the empowering haste icon shows me everything I need to know about the ability. Can't say that about the other more "finished" icons.

I think they found some things for Episode 3 as well. Don't get excited though, this happened before.

Oh and here's are some people voicing their dislike for Rubick. (bad language oh no)

I think Goblin Greed wins it for me. Though Insatiable Hunger is a close second. ...and there is something about Wind Walk.

Evidently, because their fans have been screaming for it so much, they're releasing it sooner.

Meanwhile us Half Life fans continue to wait for Episode 3...as we have been since 2007.

such injustice

how dare they make a multiplayer game that has millions of players but is stuck on a ****ty engine.

how dare they make this game when they have stated several times since portal 2 was released that they enjoy making multiplayer games more then singleplayer ones and will continue to make mostly multiplayer games

how dare they make a game that will provide millions of people hundreds of ours of gameplay over a game that will provide about 8.

how dare they

Gaben should be tried for war crimes at the Hague!

btw I think he's said something about ditching the episodic format so expect Half-Life 3 eventually.

How dare they claim to listen to their fans, yet they've not even started development on something they promised to do?

Also Dota 2 <--- for those who want a source on where I heard they were pushing up DotA 2's release date. I just hope this doesn't mean they're taking the usual route of releasing the game unfinished and then patching it.

i don't recall anyone promising anything! Yeah it sucks when a series dies/gets delayed/whatever, but telling a creative team has no ideas and is uninterested to make a sequel is going to end in a ****ty sequel.

also tf2 and dota and counterstirke have way more fans, so i guess they are listening to them anyway by continuing development on all those things???????

half life is a good game but your overstating its popularity even among its own fans

also i literally don't know what you mean by releasing a game unfinished and then patching it, valve didn't make magicka or terraria????? or does adding features later somehow retroactively make the original product unfinished.

Releasing games unfinished...well lessee, without bug testing. Do I need to name how many games were released with all sorts of bugs and glitches that had to be patched to work? Valve's been pretty good about it, but too many PC game developers seem to use patches as an excuse to release games without finishing bug-testing.

But that's beside the point. What will happen in this case is they won't release it as they intended; but what I hear is that they won't be releasing silly placeholders, they'll just cut heroes from the starting lineup and add them later.

yes because console games are completely unflawed and require no patching

console games: don't need patching, don't have bugs, whats a red ring???? (whoops beaten)

do you even know how hard bug testing is? yes, some recent pc games have had really bad releases (magicka because it had an inexperienced team, new vegas because obsidian + betheseda engine is a terrible combination, dead island because PORTING TO PC IS EAST RIGHT???) but valve games have had very few bugs on release?

and also you don't know **** because the reports from beta (who in this case are universally experienced dota players) is the game runs very well. And theres literally nothing that suggests heros will be missing from release (they are reportedly nearly finished?)

also your not entitled to having games exactly as you want them it turns out

I am currently playing Dota 2... And Graphics Wise, it so much better. Also, Gameplay is same.
Heroes and Skills Animation is so much better and realistic now.
