LoL: Dominion (Lol :D )

So seeing as Dominion was publically beta tested and released very very recently, what are all your thoughts on it?

I notice that a lot of people haven't really been catching on yet. I do see a couple consistent champions being played though; like Katarina, Malphite, Rammus, Kayle, and Tyrndamere. And I've seen a couple consistently banned champions like Rammus.

Admittedly I'm playing extra recklessly in Dominion than I would Summoner's Rift...but given how often I've died to capture a point close to the spawn point or create a distraction, I'd say it's worth it. Not to mention, Kog'Maw's pretty good at leeroying people and taking them with him.

Not entered the League for a while now but whenever I get free time in the future I plan on getting back to it. My friend still plays a lot and well, I haven't seen him since Dominion was released. Make of that what you will.

What's the standard team set up for Dominion anyway? Still Tank, Support, Carry, Mage + other?

I don't think the team setup has been clearly defined yet; but you still need a DPS ("Carry" or Assassin) champ to knock attackers away or to sneak to nodes and kill someone if they're defending it. One thing I've seen a lot of are fighters/bruisers like Jax. Supports like Kayle and Teemo I've seen all over the place, but I've seen less of Sona and Zilean, but if you solo queue you rarely see them anyways. Sona and Zilean are indeed helpful because of their movement speed buffs but a lot of people tend to go off on their own and most pure supports aren't that good fighting on their own.

The big thing about Dominion versus Summoner's Rift and Twisted Treeline is mobility. Almost every match I've seen people have had either Boots of Mobility or Boots of Swiftness, as well as lots of people with ghost and popping it to run to the top node at the start. This is why people love to pick Rammus and Riven; because Rammus has Powerball and can run right to the nodes quickly and Riven's greatest asset is her mobility.

I play Dominion moreso than Summoner's Rift because it's faster. It works when you don't have as much time and don't want to risk playing with or against a team of mules who refuse to surrender.

I dunno really I'm kind of these guys that don't want to surrender when it looks dark not the OMG all turrets gone but we can still make it kind of not surrendering but i think you get the point.
