Skyrim - Mod tools and graphics tweaks for PC

There is a Skyrim thread running in the General Gaming forum right now, but I thought it might be handy to have a list of some mods and some of the graphical / display settings tweaks that have been discovered in the game's first week of release for us PC folk.

Luckily, PC Gamer have done most of the ground work here, so here's a link to a list that they're consistently updating about what the best mods are, including a save game organiser, no spiders mod and a map mod which gives the world map a zoom function, to the point where it almost becomes like Google Streetview. This is all a pretty good effort considering the mod tools haven't even been released yet.

The 11 best Skyrim mods so far | PC Gamer

Secondly, there's been a bunch of handy forum threads about tweaking game files to change FOV and make the game prettier (if your PC can handle it).

Getting Skyrim Skytrim | Rock, Paper, Shotgun - This mainly covers FOV changes but also tells you how to stop Bethesda's logo video playing whenever you boot up the game and talks about how to enable self-shadowing.

Skyrim: I Want More Pretties | Rock, Paper, Shotgun - this covers a bunch of potentially risky changes to make Skyrim oh so pretty. If you're confident with tinkering around in .ini files, you might find these worthwhile.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim tweaks improve graphics, disable Vsync, change FOV and more | PC Gamer - this lists some more graphical tweaks as well as solutions to some early bugs / crashes that exist in this Bethesda title (who would've thought?)

If you find a good mod or have a console/.ini file tweak that you want to share, feel free to leave a reply. I've spent enough time typing, I'm gonna go play the damn game.

Has anyone gotten a non-buggy UI fix/mod working yet? The Skyrim UI is terribly inefficient.

Also, is there a fix for mouse clicks not working on the menu option your cursor is over? It's ****ing infuriating.

Also, tried everything to fix mouse lag, not working.

Have you checked this out, AI? SkyUI at Skyrim Nexus - Skyrim Mods and community

I haven't installed any mods yet, I've actually found my experience pretty tolerable.

Yeah, I've tried that one and it's improved my experience so far, but it only works for when the player accesses his own inventory independent of merchants, etc. They need to expand it to include a more complete swath of functions.

I've also installed a mod that replaces the headache-inducing book font with the one from Morrowind which is a big improvement. I'm not about to elaborate on why the original was such a difficult read, but they never should have used it.

My response to the Arrowcrafting mod could best be described with "Hallelujah".
