| Timelord. | [Story in short] 14 year old, plays manhunt (18 rated), kid kills friend, because he has played it. BBC blames game, BBC bans game. Says it all really. Clicky This bring back the old question, How in the blue hell did he get his hands on a eighteen rated game? Plus there are age ratings on games for a reason. Why can't 99% of people see that? |

Let's just Ignore those things the ESRB puts on the game boxes, they're only put there for show. [ July 29, 2004, 08:56 PM: Message edited by: Digi ] |

That is possible- hell, even the Beatles produced Mr. Manson- but extremely uncommon, and not something that is going to cause a real societal issue. It's like banning barbeque skewers because someone loses an eye with one. Just a (usually) unneccessary 'Be Careful' disclaimer should suffice. |

And if we ban Manhunt, why not ****ing ban "The Running Man", since the game was inspired from such. |

I haven't killed anyone, and I don't plan on it. Why? I owe some of it to having loving friends, loving family, and the rest to being sane. |

The BBFC couldn't ban it, but the BBC has. The BBC has banned lots of things, but it doesn't actually get taken off the market. Although some shops have. I still liked the fact that the BBC banned Jasper Carrots "Funky Moped". | |

You know what> They've found out that the game was owned by the victim, not the killer. The killer wanted to rob the victim to pay off a drugs debt. I mean, the bloody Daily Mail, which is in my opinion Britain's most bigotted and idiotic right-wing newspaper, never ifgnored police reports which said about 17BLOODY TIMES that there was no connection between Manhunt and the murders. So it turns out that the parents didn't care about their son at all in this. They just wanted the money. Of course, heaven forbid if the Daily mail actually apoligises to Rockstar for this. ¬_¬ |
