PARIS, France (CNN) -- Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has a water-borne illness, a Saudi intelligence source told CNN on Saturday, a report that conflicts with an article in a French newspaper saying that the man who has been hunted by the United States for the past five years is dead.

I don't know about this. There's been rumors going on since like December of 2001.

Heck, in '98 they thought he only had months to live. He's certainly not an entirely well man, but until we can get some legitimate confirmation, he's still alive.

I'm not saying I'm buying into this, but I heard this wasn't true based entirely on "It just wouldn't happen, it's like Bonnie and Clyde dying in their sleep instead of machine gun fire". Didn't Al Capone die of an STD, or am I thinking of some other notorious crime boss?

And though he wasn't at all a criminal but the analogy of an unlikely death is still there, I guess people have already forgotten the Crocodile Hunter was killed by a stingray.

I would expect the odds of him dying of natural causes to be pretty good, actually. Life on the run can be pretty rough.
