This reminds me of an old radio show called "Germany or Florida." The announcer would tell a messed up story and invite the listeners to call in and guess if it was from Germany or Florida.

The proper course of action would first to have her boyfriend arrested for statutory rape and/or child molestation THREE YEARS AGO, then a good amount of belt-whopin for the child. Lastly, a good year of therapy all around.

It could have been worse, there is a region of the world where it is considered acceptable to surgically remove the, um, a certain 'sensitive region' in order to keep girls from enjoying sex.

^She was aquitted. Because, you know, not reporting statutory rape/possible molestation really doesn't say anything about her mothering skills. Never mind the fact that she physically caused her daughter extreme pain. No biggie.
