Late last month it was reported that Mar Rahho had been kidnapped by jihadists from his armored car in Mosul. On March 13, it was confirmed by Nineveh police that Mar Rahho’s body had been found buried outside Mosul. The Archbishop had been shot multiple times, including the head. The murder has brought forth dissent from foreign ministries as well as religious leaders in Iraq and the Vatican. Protests appeared in Karamles and Tel Keppe, as well as many other largely Assyrian-Chaldean communities in Iraq.
