Palestinian Protesters Dress As 'Avatar' Characters

Palestinian Protesters Dress As 'Avatar' Characters (PHOTOS)

Quote:
(AP) JERUSALEM -- Palestinian protesters have added a colorful twist to demonstrations against Israel's separation barrier, painting themselves blue and posing as characters from the hit film "Avatar."

The demonstrators also donned long hair and loincloths Friday for the weekly protest against the barrier near the village of Bilin.

They equated their struggle to the intergalactic one portrayed in the film.

Israel says the barrier is needed for its security. Palestinians consider it a land grab.

The protests have become a symbol of opposition. They often end in clashes with Israeli security forces involving stones and tear gas.

The "Avatar" protest comes a day after the Israeli government began rerouting the enclosure to eat up less of the Palestinian village.

lol. Go Palestine.

If only all the Palestinians would protest like this rather than bombing things (not all Palestinians are terrorists, nor are the majority terrorists, but the loudest ones are). If everyone protested nonviolently I probably could see a way out of this vicious cycle of a civil war. -CSM

except hamas is extremely small, the number of casualties in their rocket attacks smaller, and the reason they are "loud" is because Israel dumps publicity on them and uses them as a excuse to do all their genocide bull****.

hmm, if we bomb this country the people in the country will love us! oh no they are forming terrorist cells who could have predicted this

Oh, well, as long as Hamas is smaller than the Israeli government and as long as they're killing fewer civilians, I guess that makes them the good guys. At long last it's clear to me why they gave Arafat that Peace Prize.

Actually, the members of both factions who go around injuring and killing people (and the people who order them to do such things) are bad, and should try realizing that automatic weapons and explosives don't solve social issues.

S'right. I mean, I'm no hippie peacenik. Not by a long shot. But Gandhi and Martin Luther King got more **** done in far less time than anybody on either side of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

Well, don't worry. In a couple more years, Iran will have nuclear bombs and then the whole region will be gone.
