Random thought....

Having played all of the Pokemon games aside from XD, Coliseum, and Fire/Leaf, I've been developing (since the introduction of Ruby/Sapphire) that they really ought to make a sort of....

Pokemon Master Edition.... kind of thing. With all of the regions and all of the pokemon in it. It wouldn't be too hard, I don't think, and it would be HIGHLY cool, especially if you could choose which city to begin in.

Heck, they could use the battle engine from Stadium/Coliseum, combine it with improved visuals and the extended map, add loads more characterization in CPU trainers, have the held items actually show up, and throw all sorts of neat things out there, and it would make one hell of an RPG for Revolution. It would even be a really cool MMORPG, now that I'm bothering to... uh... type it out loud? O.o;

Anywho.................
....yeah, can I get some thoughts here? I don't expect much to come of this, but it's something I really felt like throwing out there to discuss.

I really doubt something like this will happen soon, but I've always wanted a real 3-D Pokemon RPG. A very very long one, at that.

Me and my friend came up with this idea ages ago. The only sort of problem we foresaw, was what levels the other 16 gyms would be.....

But yes this would rock, if it happened.

See, that's the thing... the gym leaders are GYM LEADERS, right? If you recall from the cartoon (which I gave up on after a while, but that's another story), Misty, as a Gym Leader, had several different pokemon of various power levels- so you could have each Leader bring out different crew members and pokemon for each trainer, generally sticking to a similar level.

I think it could work out pretty well (plus, with the huge variety of pokemon there are now, there would be plenty of room for leader pokemon variety without repeating the same species multiple times.)

I think the Pokemon universe is robust enough to transfer to any genre of video game, much like how Mario-and-friends has a video game of every kind of genre, Pokemon could launch a well done game in any genre. The backstory and character details are comprehensive.
