Types for the new Pokemon have been released.

http://www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/pokemon.shtml

Tamanta(Pre-evo of Mantine): Water (meh)

Manaphy(Voyage):Water (I was expecting to be part Psychic, interesting)

Buizeru(Sea Weasel): Water(Nice. I was expecting to be part something else)

Perappu(Musical Parrot):Flying. (Excellent)

Apart from Pure Flying, and Steel/Fighting, where are these New type Combos that Nintendo said. (Although Pure flying isn't a type combo, but it's never been done before.)

I want something Fire/Ice.

And remember, "I'm-a Charizard, number, well, six."

What about a Fire/Water?
Poison/Rock?
Psychic/Poison?
Bug/Dark?
Steel/Dragon? (Extremely nasty combo)
Psychic/Bug?
Dragon/Grass?
Grass/Fire???? (Now THAT would be cool. I like to name my Oddish 'Raddish' and think how it would look with red leaves! O.O oooo.... pretty...)
Ground/Fighting?

I remember that back in the G/S days Dark/Ghost would be the best. It's only weakness is a Fghting move combined with Foresight (since Fighting moves miss Ghost pokemon).

And Dark/Ghost could go with a really cool design as well.

Dragon/Grass would be 2x weak against Ice, something we already have more than enough of.

Now, Dragon/Fire (they haven't done this before WHY?), Dragon/Ice, and Dragon/Steel, yes.

And there's already a Dark/Ghost. It's called Sableye, and it's in Pokemon Sapphire (it's version exclusive. The Ruby counterpart is Mawile).

Sableye is also in the Emerald version as well.

I guess, but I still think it would be really interesting to see a dragon/grass.

Dragon/steel, like I said.... nasty combo. Very.

Ghost/Steel would be almost as painful to deal with.

Only types that I really want are:
Fire/Water :Underwater Volcano
Fire/Ice:Not sure on what it would be.
Flying/Fighting:Eagle/Harpies Eagle
Grass/Fire: Evo-for Tangela.
Bug/Posion>Evos>Bug/Dark>Evos>Bug/Dragon.
Then Dragon with all other types.

I honestly keep forgetting the Emerald version exists.

Not really. Fire and Ground will still do nicely on it, as well as Foresight+Fighting.

A Steel/Dragon has Fighting against it, and unless it has Levitate it would also succumb to Ground.

Yes, but I'm thinking in terms of all the other things it would have resistances to. Don't just focus on weaknesses, ne?

Are there any new types or new weaknesses resistances since G/S? If not, Dark/Ghost is still the best combination. But I suppose that Sableye has poor stats and/or moves, right?

A little of both. Yeah, no Weakness.

We need a Fire Dragon and a Steel Dragon. And a Dark/Psychic. That would kick ass.

Nobody uses Foresight.

What do you mean, "Don't just focus on weaknesses"? What else should I focus on in terms of what works against it and what doesn't?

So what if a Ghost/Steel is immune to Fighting, Normal, and Poison, and is resistant to Bug (x2), Grass, Rock? Doesn't change the fact it's not a god and still fears Fire and Ground. Nobody uses Bug and Rock anyway. Lots of people do use Fire and Ground, though.

And you could still go up with an Electric or Water Pokemon.

With a Steel/Dragon, almost everything can learn Brick Break.

Rock is Slighty more common then fire. Almost anything with good physical Atk will have Rock Slide or HP rock. A ghost/steel has a lot of Resitances to common moves Such as Brick Break, Focus Punch, Rock slide, Return, Body slam, and Toxic.

As for Steel/Dragon, it only has one Weakness with Levitate, (Which is something I think it will end up having if one is made) Which is Very very good. Brick Break is learnable by Almost everything, But Not everything can use it well. A Special based poke for instance, Will not be using brick break.

Besides, there is a Remedy for type weakness, it's Called switching out.

What?

If it needs to be switched out because of the issues with its opponent, it's obviously not as godlike as it seems.

Likewise, there's a remedy for having a Pokemon that doesn't know Brick Break against a Steel/Dragon; it's called switching out for one that does know it.

And is there some reason you're randomly capitalizing words?

I meant Hidden Power in the rock type. Then again I guess if your playing on a cartridge you can't affect that much. Still, Rock Slide is used commonly.

The captilization thing is a bad habit.

I never said Steel/Dragon was godly, I said it was good. The only type that can be considered godly is Dark/Ghost and other no weakness combinations. Even then, it will have some weakness stats wise. There is no pokemon that dosn't have to switch out against some other pokemon if its wants to survive.

As for switching out, that should go without saying. I never said they couldn't switch out for a poke with Brick Break or Earthquake. It's still a free move. You don't have to explain that swicthing out against brick break is a free move for the Oppent either.

Pure flying has most definately been used before. How about the pidgey and spearow family? Farfetch'd, Hoothoot, Noctowl, Tailow and Swellow. Btw I don't think of normal as a real type. So don't say anything about flying/normal because that's a load of bull.

Dude Normal is a real type. Normal Flying isn't resistant to Fighting whereas pure flying is. I think that's the biggest advantage.
