Help in Misty's Gym

I can't find that annoying Machine Part anywhere! A guide I found says to fish in the upper left corner of the square of water in the middle, but I found nothing. And it's also too annoying to fish everywhere in her gym because PKMN appear too often.

Do I have to like defeat Misty first or something? Maybe I have to be using a certain rod. (I was using Super)

No, you have to surf in that first block of water, near the door. Then keep pressing A in that block, and you'll eventually find it.

I found it in the spot where I said the faq said, but I did have to press A. Thanks
