Did Ash's pokedex say that Tyrouge is the evolution of Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee? Maybe it didn't but that's what it sounded like to me. If that is what it said than Ash's stupid is rubbing off on it.

That episode sucked. Tyrogue cannot beat Hitmonchan/lee

Sure it can, espeically if Brock secretly fed the Hitmonchan and hitmonlee painkillers and sleeping pills.

I'm surprised the Pokedex forgot to mention Hitmontop, that makes it even dumber than mixing the evolution direction.
