I also recently got Diamond and my starter's Piplup. I am NEVER choosing a blaziken-wannabe with a flaming ass. I know Infernape and Monferno lose the flaming ass, but Chimchar cancels it all out. |

Blaziken and Infernape are pretty different. Blaze's attack stats are 120 / 110, while Infernape has an equal 104 / 104. While that may seem like a huge loss, you can utilize the equality, and those lost stats all go into Ape's speed, which is at a crazy 108. |

Gender: Posts: 5,703 Thanks: 7 Thanked 176 Times in 116 Posts | Does Infernape remind anyone else of Sten in Breath of Fire II or is it just me? Anyway... I chose Piplup in the beginning because, to tell you the truth, I thought that he would evolve into the coolest looking Pokemon when it was all said and done. That was before I knew what they all looked like. Besides, I haven't used a water starter since Totodile (I used both Torchic and Treecko in Sapphire and Emerald). When you boil it all down, the starters are actually pretty even. Emploean can use Ice beam to take down Torterra, Infernape can us Close Combat to take down Empoleon, and Torterra can use Earthquake to take down Infernape. Really, no particular starter has an advantage over the other, except for maybe Infernape because he'll get the first attack. |

The only really slow fire types are Flareon, Magcargo, Torkoal, and Camerupt. Quote:
But either way, Monferno and Infernape are so cool, I don't think the flaming ass makes much of a difference. And come on, the thing is just adorable. Last edited by Caput Equi XVI; 06-23-2007 at 07:20 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

You're thinking of Monferno. And NO, that thing isn't cute. Fortunately, it's not as ugly as some pokemon out there. (Like say Jynx)

| Timelord. | I had a Turtwig on my Jap Pearl game, because I figured more or less that it was eventually get E-quake. So I could own a lot of NPCs quite quickly. I then got Piplup on my U.S. Diamond, because IT'S A FREAKING PENGUIN DOOD! Although Torterra has been traded over, and is now part of the team; and although I did trade my friends Chimchar over, I hardly use it (Oh. The reason my friend traded it to me is because he hates it.) |
