Move of the Week #21: Solarbeam

Solarbeam

Type: Grass
PP: 10
Base Power: 120
Accuracy: 100
Battle Effect: Takes in sunlight, then fires. If Sunny Day is out, the there is no one turn wait.
My opinion: Good for a Sunny Day team, otherwise no thanks.

My opinion's pretty much same as yours...Good for a Sunny Day Team, then it is very powerful. I actually have Groudon use this, except that he doesn't get STAB, which does suck. :/

Ahhhh, solarbeam.

I remember in Blue using this and Growth on a Venusaur to get through the entire game using only one 'mon in battles. Of course, back then, Growth was effectively Clear Mind, but wth.

This move is.... not good against other players. Heck, it's pretty darn situational against the computer.

I'd barely even use it with Sunny Day except on a non-grass 'mon- there's a wee bit too much risk there, IMO.
