My idea is so take the next logical step and have hold items affect the abilities pokemon can learn, giving way to much more useful abilities to be learned. For example I'll post the specs of the first ability/item I'm thinking of: Bomb Kit (Hold Item): Slightly increases Speed when holder uses an explosive move. Ability when bred into able Pokemon: Crumple Zones. Crumple Zones (Ability): When using an explosive move, leaves 1 HP afterward. (Hidden effect: Can only be used once per battle. If the user only has 1 HP to start with the ability will not take affect. If the user is switched out and switched back in, as long as it has more then 1 HP, the ability can be used again) Pokemon able to learn Crumple Zone: Voltorb/Electrode, Koffing/Weezing What do ya think? |
