What strategies do you use to locate Shiny Mons?

Is it easier to find them wild than it is to breed one?

ESSDEE has bred me over 120 Abras... and not a shiny amongst the ca-ute army of lil Mons!!! However, it does rival her Geodude army...

Any tips would be appreciated...

The best way that I have gathered is by Pokeradar, which you obtain after you complete the Sinnoh Dex, what you do is chain Pokemon and it caps off at 40, making the odds if I remember about 1/100.

Otherwise, either breeding or randomly finding one, the odds are 1/8196 or something along those lines.

I have a pretty good Charmander army due to breeding for Shinies. (3 boxes full, and still going)

Well, completing the Dex can't be that hard, right???

Thanks guys... I have 99 Mons... and the Dex needs 151 right??? OHMYGOSH... I need to ask a couple of people to do some mega trading... then I need to whizz through the rest of the trainers and finish the Dex.

I COULD BE HUGGING A SHINY ABRA BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH!!!!! O_o WOOOT

And you only need to see them, not capture them.

I use this stategy where you check out every square of wild pokemon 3 times. It does take a while,but if you find a square in the water and find a shiny,keep going left once and right once to find the shiny multiple times! This worked when I found Tentacool and wingull but when I tried it on land, it didn't work.

PS. This only works on Ruby and Diamond

^I honestly don't believe that, the square you're on shouldn't matter at all, the odds are still the same.

Actually, the Sinnoh PokèDex consists of 151 but you don't have to see or catch that last one.
