DKC GBA Info/Screenshots

Nintendo has released some additional details on the Game Boy Advance version of Donkey Kong Country. In addition to the original game, Donkey Kong Country for the Game Boy Advance will feature two new minigames: Funky's fishing, which requires players to catch as many fish as possible within a given time limit, and Candy's dance studio, which is basically a simple rhythm game. Both minigames can be played with two players. Donkey Kong Country for the Game Boy Advance will also include character art, a stat tracker, the ability to save anywhere, and a Donkey Kong attack mode, in which a player's in-game performance is judged according to a number of different factors.

Donkey Kong Country for the Game Boy Advance is scheduled for release on June 9.

Well at first I thought this was going to suck, but now I'm really looking forward it. The new features and mini game Nintendo is putting in sounds interesting. I'm still curious about how the attack mode will work. Though the graphics look sorta blurry, then again they are a toned down of a toned down version since Nintendo doesn't have access to Rare's high resolution version. And the gamma correction on SP just takes away from the dark mysterious atomsphere DKC had. But it's still something worth looking into.

Looks very cool, but last time I played a GB version of DK, I nearly threw my GB across the room Nice screen shots...

And this is how events stand at the moment, with a range of confirmed and secret games in production for the Xbox (including Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Conker: Live & Uncut, Kameo: Elements of Power and the elusive Perfect Dark Zero), plus development ongoing for Nintendo's handheld Game Boy Advance (Donkey Kong Country, Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge and a modern update of 80s classic Sabre Wulf). In these early stages of its new life Rare is keeping its cards pretty close to its chest, but when those cards are shown and the games really begin to flow, there's no reason for anyone to be anything less than blown away.

It looks like Rare has steped in and helped their old buddies at Nintendo out by giving them the high resolution version of Donkey Kong Country. The game looks less dithered and blurry.

Just to let you guys know, DKC's official website has launched. It has preview videos of the game, which comes out in 11 more days.
