Diddy In Mario Kart GCN?

Well you might have noticed this on the way into the forum, if not, look no further.

It looks like Diddy is finally going to make a cameo in a Mario game. As you can see, part of him is in the picture above in the upper right corner near Donkey.

-SKDK, happy that the tag team from DKC is finally back to kick some Mario Karts!

no seriously, i dont like the idea of double karts, but what are you to do? make a game the same everytime? so yeah, im also releaved to know the diddy is in the game too

Well I like the idea of double karts, probably because I dislike the idea of another Mario Kart clone. IMO Mario Kart 64 was the prime of Mario Kart games, not even adding new characters while keeping it relativly the same would improve it, Double Dash on the other hand is something nice and new. Then thats just my opininon.

I don't think Diddy Kong quite fits, but he's a really cool addition to the list of characters!!

Plus, at least something from the DK series is getting attention!

Well I think Diddy fits in, even though he isn't a Mario character. After all Donkey wasn't really a Mario character in the first place, but it still worked since Mario and Donkey Kong games were related, because Mario started off as a Donkey Kong character. Though he got into MK64 because of Rare's relationship with Nintendo at the time.

Diddy Kong is owned by Nintendo. I think Rare only have dibs on the new stuff they created for the N64 era.

Personally I'm quite disappointed by Diddy's appearance in the new Mario Kart, I'd much rather it was Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr.

I'd much rather have Diddy, Donkey Kong Jr. is basically Baby Donkey Kong. And I'm not crazy about baby versions, like Baby Mario and Baby Bowser. Thats just my opinion.

Well, he also appeared in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. Also, does Nintendo own Dixie Kong as well? (In case they go "Kong Krazy" sometime)

Nintendo owns everything related to the Donkey Kong franchise, excluding the non DKC related Diddy Kong Racing character (everything except Diddy and Krunch). So it's safe to say they own Dixie.

I believe Nintendo got the rights to any character Rare created directly for a Nintendo franchise. Conker, Banjo, Joanna Dark, etc. are not directly related to a Nintendo character.
