I'm leaving.

Yeah, yeah, I know. Mod blah blah threads blah blah participation blah.

Mostly, I've come to realize a few things. First off, the RPG, which was originally something I wanted to do, has become more a chore than anything else. If there was one thing I learned from my experience with Star Wars: Galaxies, it was that once it's a chore, you should admit it's not fun anymore and stop going out of your way to do it unless it really needs to be done. With the recent update, there is no longer any real distinction between characters, as there is no way to limit who uses what equipment and skills, and infinite reassignment means you can switch stuff around whenever you feel like it. This is neverminding the very function-obstructive construction interface and glaring errors in the combat programming (particularly damage variables).

On top of that, I've come to realize that this board itself is a drain of my attention from what I really want to be doing, which is playing the games, not talking about them. While I will still be stopping by periodically, I really don't find that a board about games is a particularly useful place to spend my time when I could be playing the games instead, especially since my area of interest is MMORPGs, which you get more out of the more you put into them directly.

This isn't to say that this isn't a great place, because it is- it's just not a place I have further interest in investing a lot of time at. Were my interest more in the non MMO games, I would love this place to death, as I'm sure a lot of you do.

....at any rate, that's my leaving speech. I'll be lurking about now and then, but I really won't be here very much anymore.

It's sad that you're leaving, Miss Starblade. I've only kinda noticed you in the past couple of months, and you're quite the character ^.^ Remember, there's no shame in coming back; I once thought that VGF was a drain on my time that I couldn't afford to make. It still is, but I try to neglect that fact.

O_O I'm surprised... and sad to see you go, but understand your need to spend your time doing other things.
