Menu color question - VGF

Ok, this is an odd question, but I recently got a new flatscreen TV to replace my 6 year old crappy tube thing.

When I was playing brawl last night, I noticed that the color of the menu screen that has all of the trophies and stickers and stuff, which was normally a dull yellow, is now a bright, almost neon, yellow. It looks very strange. I was just wondering if this was normal and how it is supposed to look (and my old tv just sucked) or if there's something off with my new tv (which wouldn't be cool.)

Anyway, I'm not sure if anyone can help with this one, but I figured I would throw it out there.

I honestly don't know I still have a crappy 6-year old tube thingy.

It's somewhere in-between.

Flatscreen TVs out of the box have contrast set waaay too high. Darken it a little and you'll probably notice it still looks sharp, without melting your eyes.

It took me several weeks to become used to mine... I even wore sunglasses sometimes @_@

I guess I'll take a look at the color/contrast settings, but everything else on the widescreen looks great. It's just that one menu screen in Brawl that looks weird. Almost like a neon-puke-yellow.
