I want to run an RPG with Tristat. However, I don't know what the story would be. What would you want for a game?

We don't usually play any real rpg games, just made up rules. Most of the games on this forum are based on Medieval Fantasy (LotR or D&D type settings)

Generally there are two types of topics. Controlled topics are more common-- Soul Stealer and A Soldier's Life are both controlled. For those, we almost always make up the stats, rules, plot, setting, etc. Then whoever came up with it-- me for SS, Marth for SL-- will post a sign-up sheet, people will fill it out and sign up, and the "GM" will post a topic, usually one for each person. Then they'll be run in the manner you see these being run: the GM will describe the situation, and the player will decide what to do.

Alternatively, you could do a free-play. Those are more like story writing. One person comes up with it, but everyone has an equal part. Anyone can pretty much do anything. The two most recent free-plays I've done are the failed Southward On (here's the sign-up topic for that) and the equally failed Ultimate RPG: Glory (which is in fact the third in a series of Ultimate RPGs, the first of which was the best topic in forum history as far as I'm concerned, the second of which fizzled almost as quickly as the first... I don't think we'll be trying again) (here's the idea topic and the stat topic for that). Those are solid examples of free-plays, even though they went down pretty fast.

See if that helps. If not, ask me anything.

I really want to play a Tristat dx game. Probably a low fantasy type of game.

You could start one, but unless you explain how it works, you're out of luck cause none of us play tristat.

There is a document about it at Guardiansorder.com. Its a very cool system, very simple and you can basically do anything you want with it.
