| Veteran Member Join Date: Dec 2000 Location: Florida Gender: Posts: 18,304 Thanks: 1 Thanked 13 Times in 10 Posts | Guardians of the Wayward Path Ages ago, before the nine kingdoms of Etheria were built, the land was overrun with spirits and monsters. Humans lived in scattered tribes as nomads and hunter/gatherers. Many of the shamans and tribal priests and priestess foresaw a great evil would overwhelm and destroy them, unless they could gather and unite, and destroy it first. Each tribe sent a priestess and several guardians to fight this evil. They were able to seal it, but to keep the seal going strong, the journey. Now, generations later, its tradition for each Etherian kingdom to send a priestess on a similiar pilgrimage every 10 years, with several guardians in order to prevent this evil from coming free. In this rpg, you play one of the pilgrim groups from one of the cities. Since we're dealing with multiple characters, I'm going to keep the system simple. You can create 2-5 characters. One of the characters must be the priestess of your group. You can recruit characters throughout the story, and characters may leave or get killed in battle or during the story. Character Creation Name: Age: Sex: Bio: Write whatever you feel is important about the character. There are three stats. You have 50 points to split between these three stats. Body: Body is an overall measure of your athletic ability and toughness. Mind: Mind is an overall measure of your intelligence, perception and wisdom. Soul: Soul is an overall measure of your willpower and charisma. Skills and Abilities -------------------- Skills are things your character is good at. Combat skills, magic skills, adventuring skills, etc. If you want your character to be athletic, you can take levels in that, if you want him to be a good thief, you can take stealth and pick pocketting, if you want him to be a warrior, take Swords, Axes, or whatever weapon style you want, you can take crafting, communication skills, tracking, healing, attack magic, or basically whatever you want. All skills are tied to one of the three abilities and cannot exceed its key stat. Abilities: Abilities are special actions based on one of your abilities. Every ability must be tied to a skill. Each ability is also measured by Level, and cannot exceed the level of the key skill. You have 10 levels to split between Skills, and 20 among abilities. I'll use my first five roleplaying characters I created when I was probably 8 or so, heh. Name: Jade Age: 18 Bio: Jade is a young kid with a lot of spirit and determination. He wants to make a change in the world and to be involved in helping bring eternal peace. Body: 16 Mind: 12 Soul: 22 Skills: Endurance(Level 5)- With his determination, Jade can travel great distances, even when fatigued before giving in and taking a rest. Swords(Level 5)- Gives Jade enhanced skills in swords. Abilities: Focus(Level 7)- Jade can use his energy to focus his next attacks to deal more damage while in battle. Slash(Level 6)- Jade can slash an enemy, dealing damage and causing the enemy to bleed, taking continuous damage. Fire Slash(Level 7)- A powerful slash imbued with fire for dealing a great amount of damage at once. Name: Blake Carche Age: 21 Sex: Male Bio: A strong, brute warrior who has hunted meat for his tribe for several years. He is experienced in the surviving in the wilderness and finding food to live on. Body: 24 Mind: 15 Soul: 11 Skills: Survival(Level 5)- Gives Blake survival skills such as building fires, making camps, etc. Hunting(Level 5)- Allows Blake to hunt for food to prevent the group from becoming famished. Abilities: Ground Pound(Level 7)- Slams his axe into the ground in front of him. Rocks spurt out in all directions, harming nearby enemies. Power Slam(Level 7)- Slams his axe into an enemy for large amounts of damage. Charge(Level 6)- Can engage and attack an enemy first by immediately getting within range of the enemy before it has a chance to attack. Name: Vue Carche Age: 16 Sex: Female Bio: While Vue is not as strong as her brother, she is more than capable of fighting her through or out of a mess. She has a lot of experience and training in many combat situations, despite her nature of being a priestess. Body: 11 Mind: 17 Soul: 22 Skills: Combat Training(Level 4)- Allows Vue to breach defenses, block damage, or evade damage more efficiently. Quick Charge(Level 6)- Allows Vue to conjure up a spell to create more damage(or heal) than normally. Abilities: Heal(Level 12)- Can heal a party member for a specific amount of health. Fireball(Level 8)- A powerful fireball that deals initial damage as well as lowering an enemy's defenses for a while. Name: Huey Age: 31 Sex: Male Bio: For nearly a decade and half, Huey has served as a cartographer for the tribe. He has gone out and explored the world on numerous occasion, and has recently invited his son, Gent to explore the vast world with him. He is skilled in navigating and knows safer or more convenient routes in some areas. Body: 14 Mind: 24 Soul: 12 Skills: Navigation(Level 10)- Knows many areas, including safer paths for the group to travel. If he is unfamiliar with an area, he generally knows what paths will be safer. Abilities: Defensive Stance(Level 5)- Allows Huey to increase his defensive capabilities with his spear for the battle. Trip(Level 9)- Allows Huey to trip an enemy, leaving them unable to attack until they get up. Finishing Stab(Level 6)- Allows Huey to impale a tripped enemy, finishing it or causing large amounts of damage. Name: Gent Age: 12 Sex: Male Bio: Gent is a young child who has showed interest in his dad's job. After much convincing with his parents, he finally was able to set out on the adventures his father took and has enjoyed it since. Body: 12 Mind: 10 Soul: 28 Skills: Spears(Level 10)- Enhances Gent's ability with spears. Abilities: Defensive Stance(Level 8)- Allows Gent to increase his defensive capabilities with his spear for the battle. Yeah its a lot if you pick 10 different skills and 20 different abilities for every character, but I figured people would go for a few moderately leveled abilities, or have one or two characters with high level specialties or something. |

After that I'm going job hunting for awhile, so I'll be back on this evening. By the way, Vue is your groups's priestess right? I'm just making sure you know that one of your characters is supposed to be the priestess. The abilities and skills are fine, you don't need to change them. |

I made her a healer and a caster now. Naturally I make physical characters so none of them were really suited for a priest/priestess role anyway. |

Jump Attack: Level 10- Josh jumps forward, attacking his enemy mid-air. Name: Torra Age: 25 Sex: Male Bio: A sly magic-caster that Josh Kal hates. But, his skills are of great use. Body: 10 Mind: 30 Soul: 10 Skills Attack Magic: 10 Abilities Trickster: Level 15- Torra uses magic to manipulate an enemy's mind and attack his allies. Name: Crystal Shade Age: 14 Sex: Female Bio: A young priestess sent by her tribe. She is good friends with Josh Kal. Body: 10 Mind: 20 Soul: 20 Skills Bow and Arrow: 5 Priestess: 5 Abilities Dodge and Attack: Level 20-When Crystal attacked, she attempts to dodge, and if she is successful, she then attacks back with her bow. Name: Fen Age: 20 Sex: Male Bio: A tough warrior, who is best friends with Josh Kal. He despises Torra, and is over-protective with Crystal. Body: 30 Mind: 10 Soul: 10 Skills Axe: 6 Adventure: 4 Abilities Crushing Blow: Level 15- Fen jumps forward, doing a massive attack to his enemy. Tracker: Level 5- Fen can memorize maps and dungeons, forests, etc. to find ways out of the places. |

I'd also like you to clarify priestess as an ability too. Your idea of what it means may be different than mine. |

I certainly have nothing against RPing, but I have a lot going on, and a lot of my posts won't be quality...And I don't like RPing if I'm not into it. So far I've gotten 2 characters, and I'm trying to give them depth, so yeah. |
