Especially in the case of Return of the Jedi. God, they made that one suck. The Special Edition is so extremely inferior to the original version of Return of the Jedi that I had to send Boba Fett to Skywalker ranch to kill George Lucas. It would've worked perfectly, too, if George Lucas didn't digitally add an army to his front yard to murder Boba Fett with.

I haven't seen the old one versions, I'd like to. Bt I really like the Special addition. The only thing that I really dislike is the whole scene with Jabba the Hutt in ANH. That Jabba looks horrible.

Good additions:

The new ROTS ending. I HATE the old one.

Expanding some of the scenes.

Adding a few scenes.

Fixing a few effects. (Missing Saber effects)

Fragging awesome Wampa scene.

Neutral:

Different Sarlaac.

Redoing the Jabba's Palace band

Some other stuff.

Smeh:

Replacing the original holoprojection of the Emperor with one by Ian McDiarmid.

Changing Boba Fett's voice.

Bad:

Superimposing Hayden Christensen's head over Sebastian Shaw's.

The changing of the music in ROTJ was $@%!ing awful. So was redoing the band to make them "cuter."

So was redoing the whole scene in Empire Strikes Back where Darth Vader is talking to Emperor Palpatine.

And remember, "Han shot first."

No way. Ian McDiarmid's face belongs in the holo scene. The other guy looks and sounds nothing like him. That is a change I am glad they made.
Don't know about the band, but I find the song quite catchy.

I'm with ya, buddy. Jabba looks more like a talking turd than a hutt in that scene.

I hate it when people use CGI for creatures when animatronics and puppets could've been easily done for them.

I prefer the original everything. Probably because I grew up with it that way. I don't need Lucas going back and fixing what wasn't broken just because he forgot how to put out good movies some time between 'Willow' and 'Phantom Menace'.
