In my own mind, the armored core series was built for online play. First, it makes you give your AC's names and you are forced to register a pilot name, and you even have a mailbox. The third installment even had an arena where you could climb up in the ranks, and I think that would be pretty cool if there were rankings of everyone who played online.

Sure it would have to be changed slightly for huge team battles, but if they made the arenas bigger it would be alot of fun. You could even have specified teams, with the majority being all-around strikers, and then just fill up the rest with lightweight/longrange snipers and heavy artillery mechs for cover. Not to mention that every portion of your AC can be customized color-wise on the RGB scale, so theres only a slight chance another AC even comes close to looking similar to yours.

Maybe it is just me, but this franchise was just meant to be online. Any thoughts on it?
