Maniac Mansion&Day of the Tentacle:

I am probably the only person here who has even heard of Maniac Mansion. Maniac Mansion was a point-and-click adventure for the PC that was developed by LucasArts in the 80's. Yes, believe it or not, there was one point in time in which LucasArts made games that weren't Star Wars. Maniac Mansion was the game that put LucasArts on the map, and it only got one sequel, Day of the Tentacle, which is ten years old. The game was also hillarious, in Maniac Mansion, you had the option of putting a hamster in a microwave (Which I'm sure everyone who has played it has done) and the zany madcap antics continued into Day of the Tentacle. They really should either remake those classics so that they'll work for today's computers or make a new one. How can they let the game that put them on the map die?

Name sounds familiar, although I never played it.

I dunno if they're still making Shining force or lufia games, but those series were cool.

And SSB better not die.

^ Curse you. CURSE YOU.

Although it wasn't exactly a series, Nightshade. There were many hints that it was getting a sequel such as Sutekh's threat in the ending and it being called "Part 1: The Claws of Sutekh", but obviously the game was so unpopular the sequel never arised.

Power Blade: Of course, after playing Power Blade 2, I can see why the series died off.

Oh yes. EARTHWORM JIM! Blam Menace 2 the Galaxy. And while I've never played it, I'll still blam Earthworm Jim 3D.

Man, those LucasArts point-and-click games were awesome. Sam and Max, The Dig, Manic Mansion, Day of the Tenticle, Full Throttle...all the best. I'd trade my Xbox to get those games back.

AI just pointed something out... lots of people around here have heard of Maniac Mansion. I've heard of it. And if LVK reads that comment, he's gonna locate your house and bust your head in with a mallet.

While not as popular as Super Mario World, Maniac Mansion's still a lot less obscure than, say, Wild 9.

'Day of the Tentacle', 'Sam and Max Hit the Road', and especially the 'Monkey Island' series are the main reason I got into PC gaming in the first place.

Oh, and, Capcom, you've had more than enough time--put your next Megaman game on hold for a few days and kick out another 'Power Stone' game, damn it.

Don't forget Loom and Zak McKraken. (Now that's a game only Zak and I have heard of)

And if lots of people here have heard of Maniac Mansion, how come I've heard so little Maniac Mansion discussion? *Waits to get busted up by LvK*

Dang. When I first saw that the LucasArts point-and-click games were being mentioned, I thought, "Hey! No one's mentioned Monkey Island yet!" But apparantly I was wrong.

How appropriate. You fight like a cow!
