| Guest Posts: n/a | It'll be like the GB games except that instead of AI trainers in the routes & caves, they're other players. Tourtments can be held at Indigo Plateau with prizes such as legendaries. The ability to join Team Rocket would be nice, but there would be some problems like players complaining about stolen Poke'mon or maybe that 80% of total players have joined. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Yes, I'm bumping a topic that's almost 15 months old. Why? Because I finally got the game figured out! Pokemon MMORPG System: Gamecube Players: one per system Controls Control Stick: Move Player Character around D-Pad: scroll through menus B: Let the first Poke’mon in Player’s line up out of it’s ball/orders the Poke’mon to use it’s first move A: Talk to other players and NPCs/orders Poke’mon to use second move Y: Orders Poke’mon to use third move X: Orders Poke’mon to use forth move R: Brings up List of Poke’mon on the player’s team Start: Brings up main menu L: Brings up the items menu Z: Player’s Poke’Dex displays info on enemy Poke’mon in a small window in upper left corner of the screen Character creation screen This is where players design the characters they play as. Name Entry: The name of your character Gender: chose to be a boy or a girl Appearance: options include height, hair style, hair color, eye color and clothes amongst others. Home: Decide what region and city you’ll begin in (yes, each region has more than one city to serve as a starting point.) Career: What you’ll do in the game. This gets it’s own section so…. Careers Trainer: Compete in gym and League battles. May join a team. Resercher: Goal is to complete your Poke’Dex. Only career where you get a Poke’Dex. May join a team (you get different kinds of missions). Only researchers can find and capture the legendary Pokemon. Breeder: Raises Pokemon to enter in contests. Can not join a team. It’s entirely possible to never actually never fight a single battle. Watcher: Goal is to witness every Poke’mon (not necessary catch them) and take a picture of them. This career has access to the most Hms and can sell photos for large amounts of money. Mostly a “party friendly” career. Battling Wild: Fight and maybe capture a wild Pokemon (the Pokemon will always be the same level as your lead Pokemon) Trainer: battle between two trainers. Both trainers must agree to the battle (take the time to find out about the other player’s Pokemon’s levels) Gym: These are tournaments against other players to win badges, not battles against Gym Leaders. League: Tournaments where the winner is listed as a League champion and is given a legendary Pokemon as a prize (These Poke‘mon can only be obtain in this manner by Trainers). Battling works in Real Time. An example of a battle with a wild Poke’mon is as follows: The Wild Poke’mon attacks the player (Since players don’t HP stats, they’ll lose an item every time their hit) until the player sends out a Poke’mon of their own. The player’s Poke’mon automatically moves around and attacks with a default attack called Struggle. The player can at any time order the Poke’mon to use 1 of it’s 4 main moves, switch Poke’mon, use items or retreat from battle. Timing plays an important part in combat, having the player’s Poke’mon use the right attack at the right moment (Such as using a Fighting-type attack when behind the enemy Poke’mon so it can’t block) makes them much more effective. Regions There are four different regions to explore, each has their own league. The regions are Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto and Hoenn. There’s also a neutral area in between all of them called the Indigo Plateau where the world tournaments are held. Teams There are four different teams that players can join. Stats for each Team are divided in seven categories, What region their main base is in, who are the key figures (characters played by Nintendo employees), what their ultimate goal is, what Pokemon they like and hate, the ease of joining their team, who their main enemies are and other details. The most common activity of the teams is combating members of the rival team, although members can be assigned missions to accomplished, usually involving stolen or sabotage scientific equipment. While a team would of course never join forces with their rivals but they may be allies, enemies or just indifferent with the other two teams. These relationships are largely affected by how players interact with player on the other teams (for example, battling a player could anger his leader). Team Rocket Base: Kanto Key figures: Giovanni (leader), Jesse/James/Meowth (beginning level party), Butch/Cassidy (advance level party), Rocket Brothers (master level party) Goal: Control of the world Pokemon: Hates weak Pokemon Membership: Difficult. Membership offices are hidden and are banned from all cities. Must pass some tests that validates the worthiness of you and your Pokemon. Rivals: Team Hero Notes: NPCs fear and loathe Team Rocket (excluding those who are Rocket members). They’ll all refuse to give you helpful information or provide other services to you. However, Rocket Suppliers can give you items that no one outside of the group can get. Team Hero Base: Johto Key figures: Lance (Leader), Ash/Misty/Brock (advance level party), Gary/Harrison/Ritchie (expert level party) Elite four (master level party) Goal: The protection and safety of the free world Pokemon: Loves all Pokemon Membership: Membership offices are available in almost all cities. Must be at least an advance level trainer. Rivals: Team Rocket Notes: Team Hero is loved by the whole world (excluding the other teams) and NPCs are very likely to give free items to Hero members. I created this team mostly because I felt there should be at least some good guys (It kinda scares me to see how popular Team Rocket is!). Team Magma Base: Hoenn Key Figures: Maxie (Leader) Goal: To rid the world of it’s large bodies of water Pokemon: Love Fire and Ground types, hate Water and Ice types Membership: Membership offices are banned in some cities. New members are given a Poochyena as a gift for joining. Rivals: Team Aqua Notes: The anime needs to introduce more members so I can add to the key figures !Team Aqua Base: Orange Island Key Figures: Archie (Leader) Goal: to flood the land masses Pokemon: Love Water and Ice types, hate Fire and Ground types (unless their half Water or Ice) Membership: Membership offices are banned in some cities. New members are given a Poochyena as a gift for joining. Rivals: Team Magma Notes: See Team Magma notes Gym Battles and Tournaments For Trainers, there ten different Tournament cups to compete in: -Level 1 to 10 Poke’mon only -Level 11 to 20 only -Level 21 to you get the idea Trainers must win at least eight gym tournaments for a specific cup before being allowed to enter a world tournament for the same cup. As for contests, well I never gave a damn about those so I don’t know anything about them! Battle Mechanic Changes Ice and Grass are physical types Ghost and Poison are special type The Speed stat is removed from all Poke’mon and is placed into the stats for every single move. Poke’mon now have an Evade stat to determine how well they can dodge attacks |

| Guest Posts: n/a | It's not a matter of the GC "holding" all those players, it's the servers that would have to do that. If done correctly, I think a Poké MMORPG would be very very awsome. It's too late right now, but tomorrow I'll read the ideas here and submit my own. My friends had also given this some serious thought. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I think this will actually be the eventual outcome of Pokemon...but as long as its under Nintendo....well until Nintendo actually does go online this won't be completely possible. How about the ability to build your own Gym? However it requires a constant upkeep along with slaries for AI trainers and Pokemon training area. Only the #1 winner of the annual Pokemon league tournement can open a gym that is supported by the leage in funding and such. My opinion on the 4 teams...I like the criminal teams, but couldn't the Hero team either be just the normal route? Or possibly split it into a few more groups? Such as the player can becomes an 1.honorary officer who over the radio assists in crimes in the nearby area. or a 2. neutral trainer. One who isn't an ally of the 3 evil Teams, but isn't inclined to help the good guys. How about a perk for joining one of the gym leader's gyms? Join Misty in the Cerulean City gym and all water Pokemon you train get a bonus in their stats. Or Jiroo in Pewter city gym and all rock/ground pokemon get a bonus to theur attack and such. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | ^lol I like the idea of real-time battles. More strategy involved then, instead of sitting there and watching the Pokemon tear strips out of each other. (Scratch anyone?) |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I think most people would perfer competing on the 100 level. Still if you want to redo lower levels, use different Poke'mon (it's not like all of those guys in the boxes are busy or anything !)[ January 11, 2004, 03:10 PM: Message edited by: Mikeachu ] |

Then you would have to call him up at the Prof.'s PC to get your Pokes. but until then, you can go to this site and download the Web Installer. then you can start battling over the net but the RuSa version is not out yet. Pokemon Netbattle has servers that are like chatrooms where you can battle. [ January 12, 2004, 07:13 PM: Message edited by: Alucard ] |
