The vocals are far and away the worst part of that song, but I guess it makes sense sine it's not meant to be about the vocals so much.

I like the guitar work and look forward to breaking my fingers against the stone wall of this song.

Interesting note: I just heard "The Devil Went Back Down to Georgia", also by Charlie Daniels, with Mark O'Connor on fiddle and Johnny Cash on vocals. Darker song, but exquisite.

They should have taken the master track for this song and just dubbed in guitar over the fiddle parts. Short, but it would have made the battle against Lou as frantic as Hell.
