I brought it home and opened it. I was surprised to see that the guitar was two pieces, but that didn't put me off much. I also liked the fact that this new guitar controller is significantly heavier than its SG predecessors. I also like that the whammy bar is much stiffer than it has been in the past, as I always use the rubber band trick to give it a little more resistance. That is where my happiness with the controller ends. The fret buttons are much more difficult to press, causing a lot of missed notes, and tired hands. Also, the fret buttons are very noisy, they click against the neck quite loudly when released. These may sound minor, but they are enough for me to put that guitar back in the box and go back to my worn in SGs (I was already thinking about getting new guitars, but after this, I will stick to the old standby). On to the gameplay. I really like the new setlists. I really like the new modes (co-op career, battle mode, etc). I could care a whole lot less about having the really cheesy cut scenes. Most importantly though, The hammer-ons and pull-offs. GH2 mentions new and improved hammer-ons and pull-offs. GH3 is a step backwards. It doesn't do a good job of registering hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides. I miss a lot of notes that I would have gotten in the original Guitar Hero (before they improved those functions). Furthermore, it just doesn't feel as responsive as the first three installments. I don't have an HDTV (still a CRT fanboy), but it seems like there is a slight bit of lag, but it's inconsistent. I'm excited to have it, and it certainly will get a lot of play (especially since 2 player modes have been enhanced). I just wanted to share that this game was quite far from meeting my expectations. |

| Newbie Join Date: Nov 2007 Gender: Posts: 1 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | The little bit of lag is really really annoying... its almost making me want to bring back the game to be honest... im playing it on the PS2. If there was a feature to allow negative ms calibration, i think in my case it would fix the game. But yah its definitely not G2 and will take a lot of getting used to if you have spent an ample amount of time into guitar hero two... just not the same feel at all, and frankly im not a fan... sorry ![]() |

The new indicators are awesome and I find the HO/PO to be just as easy if not easier than GH2. You complainers are killing me. The only real crappy things about the game are the singers' giant chins/mouths and character animations. That said I think this is the best playing installment yet. |

Apparently these guys have no frekin clue how to play the game, so they do is bitch and complain about how unbearable it is from the previous installments when really its the best, they just cant do anything with it because they suck to bad. I feel sorry for them, and i hope they grow up and develop some skill, or atleast try playing the game before they make complaints. ![]() |

| Senior Member | I disagree. I have the Wii version of GH3 and I find it quite easy to play. I beat hard mode without much of a problem and I am halfway through expert. I also find the HOs and POs quite easy but that's just through practice. Maybe you guys just suck? (unrelated to the topic...but it seems like we get a lot of outsiders coming into the forum solely to complain about GH3 a lot! Suspicions anyone?) |

I aint got no probs playin (cept its hard to put back in the box if you get my drift) but the Wii don't seem to like it!! Two discs, both havin a problem playin the music (see my post ST-ST-ST-icking music..... ) but otherwise the best fun I'v had in ages in the house with my clothes on!! If you can't play, quit bitchin and practice...... simple. ![]() |

| Senior Member | The problem your trying to describe is very hard to understand in my opinion. I just don't understand what "Sticking the music" means. It should have the guitar play along your notes though and sound messy when you screw up though. |
