Yeah, even if it is usually a crowning moment of awesome like Ulala invoking the Joker Curse on Maya when she was drunk in Persona 2. (I'm alone in saying I liked Eternal Punishment better.)

I got bored with Legendia but got to close to the end. I think anyways. With Abyss I was about 5 hours in. I do love the battle system and the way the arts look. I'm going to try to borrow it when my friend comes over this weekend. I'm still going to kill him because he left 1 disc of symphonia at his moms house (he doesn't live there anymore) and 1 disc at his cousins. So now I have neither. But its ok because some brat I babysitted stole my memory cards. To Sim Kid: Haven't playes 2 but own Persona 3 FES the speacial one with a bonus chapter at the end. I like how Xenosaga 3 ends for mood shift. Then when Collete realizes that she has to rely in her comrades instead of bottling it up inside. Or when Mithos realizes that he has done wrong and asks them to destroy the cruxius crystal. |

Trust me, you will never forget the name if you get that far. |

Yeah it gets interesting around there, but there still is a period where not a whole lot happens. You're mostly just running around activating Sephiroth and in general I felt it was the boring part of the game. It got better around when you fight Sync the second time (And he ambushed me with a mystic arte)

He lent it out the day before I asked him to borrow it. That sucks. Well I'll have to wait. Oh, he wanted me to ask the significance of Luke cutting his hair while making some vow? I know its a sign of dishonoring your family if your a female but I couldn't answer it. |

Here's it in a nutshell: Luke realizes that the person he's been up until now has been whiny, immature and codependent. He realizes that all he freaking ever says is 'Master Van said..' 'Tear said....' 'Asch said...' and never actually thought for himself. Then, at Akzeriuth, the reason so many people died was because he didn't think for himself and just did what Master Van told him to do, and he feels really freaking guilty for killing people. Ignorance isn't an excuse, and he's come to realize that. He cuts his hair to vow to be a different person than he was. Not just to show that he is different from Asch, but also-- more importantly-- to show that he can change, he WANTS to change. Akzeriuth showed him how immature and codependent he had been, and he wanted to do the best he could to make up for that by changing, by using his own head and by becoming a better person. The hair cutting shows his resolve to CHANGE. [/rant] BTW, my friends and I came up with the best Tales of the Abyss analagy ever: Once upon a time there was a dude named Luke. He wandered into an empty room with a single lightbulb, and in its privacy used the knife he'd stolen from tear and tried cutting himself but missed and chopped off his hair. This depressed him more and he moaned and sank into a corner, slowly hacking up his wrists. A few hours later, Anise walked in and saw Luke and copied him, beginning to wildly flail at her wrists. Arietta entered the room too, after deciding the God-Generals' suicidal party wasn't emo enough for her. The two girls hacked udp theirs and each others' wrists and Anise left once her hand fell off. Arietta attempted stalking her out but a light bulb fell on her wrist and entered her bloodstream and she died of lightbulb poisoning. Natalia had previously stayed out of the room because it was no place for a princess, but when she realized her true heritage she entered, cut a few slices, then left. Tear decided to enter awhile later to recover the knives Luke was still using. Then she decided to try a bit, found it okay, then eventually left. Guy just stood there outside the room, facepalmed, then walked away. Jade threw his spear at Luke's wrist to help him along in the cutting process, then walked away as if nothing had happened. Luke's wrists had become a bloody pulp and he died, leaving Asch to the emoness. Asch gathered the entire world's population and decided to run a mass suicide, when Van, driving his mini-Van, came and ran over everyone and they died. The end. |
