I am getting VERY close to the end of Abyss (Finally). I have over 94 hours plugged in. T.T

Spoiler Below
Damn, Largo's Brimstone Tempest instantly knocked out Luke. Luckily, I had Jade just pounding him with High Spell after High Spell while the revived Luke was making sure to distract Largo from attacking my magic users. Natalia was there just so I could get some in-game script activated.

I managed to beat Sync and Largo's ass into oblivion.

Now the second time I fought Sync, he took my Luke and Guy by surpsise when he used Akashic Torment out of NOWHERE.

The third time...he was almost as hard as the final boss.

Did I mention I have beaten Abyss? VERY short ending, sadly. Still, I prefer this game to Symphonia in terms of developed battle system, character development, and side quests.

Huh. Is anyone else concerned about the seemingly large art gap between ToS and Ratatosk? The styles don't seem to mesh well...

^ From what I've heard, it's not going to be incredibly similar to ToS...

...but hey, SPM was remarkably dissimilar to the other two PMs, and it was fantastic. So you never know.

Tales of Symphonia's sequel is scheduled for an American release. The subtitle is Dawn of the New World.

So, I beat ToS.
Spoiler Below
I liked everything in between when you first meet Sheena up to the snow scene in Flanoir. The beginning was slow and cliche (But, I admit, a good setup for the rest of the game) and the ending was all "LOL DISCRIMINATION" and a bad way to end the game. Some of the dialog in the end was pretty bad, too.

I think the story would have been better if they had just stuck it to the reuniting of the worlds. The whole half-elf and discrimination thing was just annoying.

I loved the battle system, though. I had tons of fun with that, especially when CL explained S and T types to me, and I got like a thousand new spells for everyone by switching their EX skills.

So, when I get the game back from my brother, I think I'm going to go for someone else's ending--I haven't decided who, yet. Probably Presea. In the meantime, I will be brawling.

Late reply, but apparently the two games have different character designers or something.

Looking at some of the screenshots of the NP article, it looks like Regal has removed his shackles. Maybe he'll actually use his fists in combat.

Judging from that scene in Welgaia, Regal using his hands would kick ASS.

I think Regal using his hands would ruin his character. He swore to never use them for combat ever again. I think it'd be cool if, when you get him, he actually puts the shackles back on.

He ALSO swore to Alicia that after his quest was finished, he would remove them. It would make sense if he did so because of that.

I just think he probably won't use his hands to kill, that's all.

yeah, but if something in the storyline causes a resurgence of the old plot, I think it would be pretty powerful and fitting to Regal's character if he were to actually put the shackles back on.

I remember how I reacted to the ending of Tales of Symphonia.

"Wait...this was was about racism? Oh, that's nice. No wait, that other thing. Dumb."
