In the Archie realeases of sonic the hedgehog there is actually a green sonic, he is what you could say a evil twin, from another dimension.

^^The character you refer to is Scourge. At first he was just Evil Sonic, and he looked just like Sonic. When he turned green, he also got sky blue eyes, some scars on his chest, and a wicked new wardrobe.

See? I am a nerd too.
