Funfact: On my second playthrough of FFIX (When I was a preteen), I wanted to name Garnet "Broadsword" instead of Dagger (because shut up). But, when I didn't have enough room, it ended up (in all caps) BROAD. Nowadays, when I open that old file, I get to enjoy the humorous aspect of watching to the characters say things like "Hey BROAD!" and "Where's BROAD?!" and the like. Also, agreed about that part that you put in spoilers. It still gets a chuckle out of me every time, despite the anxiety brought on by the relative size of that ****ing creepyass Hedgehog Pie.

I was also tempted to name Amarant "******" because... well, the Flaming Amarant... |

I might as well order a new copy from the interbutts. |

Yeah, my discs are on their last legs - I've had some skipping and freezing, but if I'm patient and say nice things to them, they get better. I'm holding out hoping they eventually release it for the PSN, like FF7 and 8. Then I'll buy it for 10 bucks from there.

WHERE WILL THE PLOT LEAD ME NEXT? After this, I've got FFI for the VC and FFXII for PS2 to beat... then after that, I'll try and find me Final Fantasy Anthologies for FFV (awesome game that I never got to finish) and FFVI (I can never play this game too much), as well as Final Fantasy Chronicles for FFIV (not my favorite FF, but still neat) and Chrono Trigger (see FFVI). Maybe try and find FFVII and FFX if I can. I still need to get FFIII for the DS sometime. Man, that's a lot of FF's and Roman numerals. |

I need to beat FFIX before I get NMH2, anyway. |

It's a good thing I have no life. |

Surely one of the best FF games made. Here's some of my thoughts now. - I nominate Beatrix for hottest FF babe. Maybe it's the eyepatch. Also, we know who's wearing the pants in the relatioship between her and Steiner. - This game has probably the best character development of any FF game I've ever played. - Not the best FF soundtrack, though there was still a lot of cool music. The final boss music was awesome. Also, it's pretty cool that they got Queen to do Kuja's theme. - HOLY **** MELTIGEMINI - Did Vivi die by the end of the game? All you see at the end are a group of his "sons" (clones?), and the group doesn't seem to include Vivi himself... - Was it ever revealed what happened to Fratley? Now I've got FF for the NES and FFXII for the PS2 to beat. I've already started FF, so I'll probably do that first. I'll keep you all updated and whatnot. |

At the end, the dialogue referring to Zidane is Vivi dictating what appears to be either a letter or just a 'goodbye' right before his death, I believe. And then you see his 'sons' whom he figured out how to create somehow (I think it's implied there's a connection between the Black Mages who raise the chocobo (from the mist) and Vivi creating clones of himself. Or maybe I made that up in my head. Either way, I'm counting it. )But yes, he 'stops.' Most of the Black Mages only have a lifespan of one-year; Vivi was a specially made Mage created by Kuja himself, so was a bit longer; however, at the beginning of the game, he is 6 months old (even though he looks to be 'ten' there is a location in Quan's dwelling that reveals how old Vivi truly is). Take into account the fact that more than a year passes since Zidane leaves to find Kuja (this being inferred from the fact that Garnet's hair could not possibly have grown back to full length in such a short period of time), so you have to figure Vivi's time came.-I thought that they showed Frately in the end...during the end scene of the game, he is shown with Freya right before she goes to visit Alexandria. He tells Freya he loves her, and they talk about rebuilding Burmecia together. -Beatrix is ****ing awesome. That is all. -I actually think that this is the strongest soundtrack. I don't think there's a song on there that I DON'T like... -I have to agree with the notion that it has the best character development for any FF game. It also has the most likable characters IMO. Even Amarant grows on you (at least, he did for me...). |

I meant did it ever describe what happened to him earlier to cause him to lose his memory? |

I actually own a physical copy of it and everything, and it was worth every penny. Still, it remains a highly debated soundtrack in general, because I typically see the opinion split between "omg it's heeeeriblllleee" and "this soundtrack contains the essence of heaven". Weird that you're one of the few who's in between the two, Val. |
