I'd have to say either FFVI or FFVIII had the best soundtrack.

Also, been playing FF some more. It's really a great game, even if it is a hundred years old. It was ahead of it's time, it feels like.

blaaaaaargh i remember when i bought the soundtrack and found out there was more that i did not have

I'd like to track it down some day, though. Maybe through the internet's seedy underbelly.

I do, however, have the piano collections (not physically, though). Beautiful arrangements. That one helped me get to sleep on many a rough night.

I found this theory about FFVIII by chance. It's so crazy and kinda dark that I doubt it's really what the developers were thinking of. I might as well, though. Spoilers abound.

I'm thinking of ordering Anthology soon. I'm a bit anxious to replay and beat FF5, and having FF6 around is always great. I'll let y'all know if I get started.

Oh yeah, I beat FFVI like, forever ago.

I started FFXII today. Pretty cool so far. I never really played any of the games after FFIX, so I'm getting used to the non-traditional battle system. It feels like I'm playing a MMO, but I'm not complaining.

I love Final Fantasy VI.

I read through all 5 pp. and no one explained it. You mentioned it in the first post. What is "grinding"?

The time consuming task of battling enemies to different shades of Black and blue in order to gain Experience point (Exp) this task is feared by some, not so much big of a problem for some and part of the game if you play anything that have numbers deciding if you manage to stick your big pointy Axe in your opponent's rear entrance or you manage to chop of your teeths.

That's all? I always called that "leveling up". If you level up by killing monsters, go kill some montsers and level up. pretty simple

Grinding's when you wander around an area for a long time just to kill monsters to boost experience, cash, items, etc.

I knew Vaan was going to be a whiny bitch from the moment I saw him. And I was right.

^^People call it grinding because a lot of times, especially in uber-mega-ultra-difficulty RPGs and for especially difficult sidequests, it's really boring and tedious after a while. It's also a fine experiment in how many times you can utter the phrase "GRINDAN FOREVAH" out loud before you hate yourself.

^Level grinding is the only pointless, cheap one. Item or tech point grinding is a different story, especially if you're not gaining EXP by doing it. -CSM

Vaan would be a half-decent character if his VA didn't grate on me so much. The character himself is fine, and even hilarious at times; the VA doesn't sell it to me, though.
