Yeah, Sim tends to have that aura. If text has aura...if aura even exists at all. >_> |

It's cool, I can relate to that. Anyway, as I was saying; Amano's works strike me as boldy confident, he depicts men as beautiful beings as well as women in a fashion that I would define as androgynous. Obviously, he takes influence from traditional Japanese art. Nomura has, likewise, a habit of making his male characters reek of under-confident, pre-pubescent teenager. I still have yet to understand his obsession with bulky clothes or hammer pants in particular, but eh. On subject, the initial character designs for FF7 were done by Amano, when the production began with the title intended for SNES release. Nomura didn't design all of it, he just adapted a large portion to his style. Don't you just looooove misinformation? ![]() o ya thatz def some nomura work rite thar |

And if he weren't holding himself like he just found out he's pregnant. Red looks cooler than usual though. |

I've always dug Amano's unique use of color, as opposed to Nomura's work, which is pretty much your typical Japanese character designer stuff. |

Here's Sephiroth: ![]() Looking a lot like Amano's trademark character, D: ![]() I think my biggest beef with Nomura comes from his work being so obviously derivative of other pop-artists like Akira Toriyama. Considering that Toriyama even works with the same company, it's hard to see Nomura as a rival or heir apparent when he comes off like such a wannabe. You're looking at single-draft watercolor material, dude. Most anything Nomura does that you ever see is digital and multi-draft. Last edited by Cosmonautical; 03-25-2010 at 08:39 AM.
