But my dad is a veteran in his sixties, so he is nuts for World War II games, and he says he wants to play through the Call of Duty series. But when I went to Wal-Mart to look for some CoD, I noticed something. Crap. There's A LOT of Call of Duty games. So if someone can give me a quick summary of ALL the Call of Duty games, that would be very helpful. If the games were just numbered, it wouldn't be necessary, but there's a crapload of subtitles... some of which are subtitles that have subtitles??? (World at War: Final Fronts?) Okay, so here's what I need: To make sure I don't do a double purchase; To know which games are in canon, so we play them in the right order; To know which games are stand-alone and which are just expansion packs or add-ons; And to know if there's a game just plain sucks and I don't need to get it. Games I have so far would be Call of Duty 2 (360) and LEGACY, which includes Call of Duty: Finest Hour and Call of Duty 2: Big Red One on PS2. Thank you. |

However, don't worry about Final Fronts; that's just a PS2 version of PS3/360 version of World at War with some extras. |

There's the main story lines (Call of Duty 1,2, and 3) that stick to the old-fashioned European campaign from WW2. These then branch off into other video games (ex: any Call of Duty game that has something after the title, like Call of Duty 2: *bla bla bla*). As for the past three games released. World at War is just another WW2 game except they add the Pacific campaign as well. Modern Warfare is just as the title says. As for Black Ops which comes out in Fall, it's the first in the COD series that takes place in the Cold War. And that's pretty much Call of Duty in a nutshell. |
