Fire Emblem 3 Remake for DS

Fire Emblem: Shin Monshō no Nazo

It's a remake of the third game. So it's a sequel to Shadow Dragon, the remake of the first Fire Emblem we saw on the DS. The japanese release date is July 15th. You can create a character.

The player can customize this new character, such as choosing their name, gender, facial appearance and starting class. New prologue and sidestory chapters heavily feature the new character and offer chances to recruit new and previously unobtainable characters.
I actually just learned of it's existence today. There doesn't seem to be a NA release date, so I'm not sure if it's coming to NA or not.

SerenesForest has a lot of info and pictures to check out, it seems.

It seems like a cool idea.

I'll keep an eye out.

Fire Emblem 3 remake, now? Interesting....Well, it is the direct sequel so why not. *Shrugs* I was actually wondering if they'd make a Fire Emblem 4 & Thracia 776/5 package. (Considering Thracia 776 is in the middle of 4) Course...4 does tend to be pretty tedious at times, and don't get me started on the escape from hel-I mean Manster orwhatever the ROM-translator decides to call those chapters.

I never got to beat the first one for the DS but I'll still keep an eye out for this one too. I like the idea of a mysterious hero being in the game alongside Marth.

That remake of the first game was ****.

Unless they include supports and remove the whole "unlock gaiden chapters by killing units" gimmick, I won't be looking into this game.

^And you know, give more units other than just Marth a backstory. I didn't care for a single unit in that game because none of them had a personality or said anything.

@Speed and Auron:

You know they were actually trying to be faithful to the NES Version that way, right? :P They're just that shallow in the NES version....although the NES version didn't have the class change, dark magic users, or usable healers. (They only got EXP from dodging.) AND it also could be made unwinnable if you missed the Falchion.

I think Fire Emblem 3 is a little less so

I never beat that game but...you had to let troops die to unlock chapters? I always do my best to keep everyone alive. To me, it is part of the fun.

Gaiden chapters. They were pretty much put in because you were letting your characters all die.

Oh cause a remake isn't supposed to update thing.

To be honest Fire Emblem was a really ****ty series up until Geneology, which introduced unique characters with backstories, the ancestor of the support system etc.

I'd think that if they were to remake earlier games it'd be a good idea to implement all the really good things Geneology brought to the series.

While at the same time in Japan, they'd get yelled at for deviating from the norm. (Marth's adventures are a lot more popular out there, partly due to the nostaigic event - most peoples' first experiences WITH Fire Emblem was 7)
