| Guest Posts: n/a | 'Cause I gave blood today. It was my first time. It's weird, everyone kept telling my that the needle wouldn't hurt at all, but I'd get all light-headed and dizzy and tired. But the exact opposite happened. My head feels fine, I'm not tired at all, and my arm is stinkin' killing me! Why did they lie to me? Oh, and does anyone else have stories or information about giving blood? And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

| Guest Posts: n/a | ^^ Yeah, I got a couple of shots about a year ago, and nearly 5 minutes afterward, I think I almost passed out. I dunno if it's the needle or the stuff in the vaccine, but man... And it did hurt where it was for a good while. I think that happened when they get your bloodstream. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | One time, I had to have bloodwork done.. and I wasn't allowed to eat before it. I DID pass out for a few seconds. Jerks. |

I've never passed out either. I'm kinda curious about what it's like. Supposedly you can actually hear everyone else speak while you're passed out, but you can't really do anything. I actually want to pass out for once in my life, just to know what it feels like. I wonder what that goes to say about me . EDIT: Dammit, why did this topic have to be about drawing blood? The second I read the title, I had my witty retort ready. It was something like: "Too much wrist exercise, eh Hayfever ?" But then it turns out that "wrist exercise" is completely irrelevant to this topic. | Guest Posts: n/a | I don't have to give blood yet. Not old enough, heh. Needles don't bother me at all, though. I don't understand why people would be afraid of them... Is there some sort of a phobia that makes you afraid of needles? |

| Guest Posts: n/a | ^Actually, that's a shot. What we're talking about here is something that goes straight into your vein and will stay there until taken out. Most hospitals don't leave the actual needle in though. They take it out and just leave the plastic straw part in. That's for recieving blood products, howerver. Dunno about giving. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Holy crap, THAT'S what passing out is? I must do that... like... every long car trip we take. Believe me, it isn't fun. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I'e passed out before. One minute I'm walking the next I'm laying in my bed. My mom and dad picked me up and I could hear them talking, but nothing else going on. I didn't even feel like I was being lifted |

| Guest Posts: n/a | I never passed out during a blood test. One summer, I had like a million of them because somebody kept f***ing up the results. Almost always, I have to get a needle shoved into both arms (Curse those rolling veins of mine. )Donating blood? Well, I probably won't. I think I have A+ blood, and I'd donate blood if I had O or O-. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | When I gave blood everything that Hayfever said should happen did, I felt light-headed but that was all. No pain. One of my friends did end up with a giant bruise that didnt go away for weeks though... |

| Guest Posts: n/a | Passing out during a blood test? I've never heard of that. They hardly take blood from you. You'd have to have a lot taken to pass out, like when donating. Though it is extremely common for you to feel light-headed after donating, which is why they usually give you orange juice after. And bruises aren't anything to worry about either. |

| Guest Posts: n/a | They took more than a pint from me, too. Most of the bags were just kinda plump after being filled, but mine was stinkin' bulging. And yet, I STILL didn't feel light-headed at all. I must have a LOT of blood. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |
