I need inspiration.

Here's how things are. I'm trying to get better at drawing and stuff, but the way things are right now, I'm just drawing the same things over and over again. So for inspiration, I'm asking some brave souls here to volunteer themselves for my version of an "I 'Draw' Pictures Of 'You'" topic. Just remember, I'm not too awfully good (hence the word "practice"), so don't be disapointed if you turn out a little... different.

EDIT: Yeah, I know before I signed up for some experiment, I'd wanna at least know how bad the guy draws, so here's the most recent work by me:

Pic of my character, Auron

Pic of my other character, Fia (Probably my best drawing so far)

The first one would've been much better if I wouldn't have tried to outline it with a Sharpie (). The next one I outlined with a pen. Look how much better the pen looks. Now I have a tracing marker, so things should be better now. Don't expect spectatcular color either, I only have 12 colored pencils and no computer programs to work with.

So, who wants to be disfigured drawn first?

Ooh, me. I'm all peachy keen with the idea of myself immortalized in digital art.

If'n you still want to draw after that, I also suggest the Heroine of the Dragon. You know, so I can add to my ever-growing collection.

You're not exactly the first person I expected to jump on this, especially since we have somewhat similar art styles anyway. But yeah, since it is rediculously late today, I shall make my attempts tomorrow or Friday, whichever day I have spare time.

More of my original art, but nobody's here for that, right?

And for Ace:

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x..._auron/Ace.jpg

I had gotten about halfway through when I realized I drew it way too small (again), so the face was kinda butchered by my marker. It doesn't help that the entire picture more or less sucked to begin with anyway. The idea there was that Ace was sitting on a giant marshmallow, pondering what he was going to do with his newfound super-modship (or marshmallow knightship, whatever you prefer). It turned out a lot worse than what I had hoped, so I felt guilty and started on his second request right away:

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...auron/HotD.jpg

Now this one, I feel good about. I decided to forsake the marker again, and went back to outlining with a pen. I feel it turned out a lot better than what I thought would happen. Bonus points if you can figure out where the inspiration for the character model came from.

My lack of a skin colored pencil or marker of some sort is really starting to bother me now. Not having photoshop doesn't help either.

So... Who's next? Don't let me down people.

Awesomesauce. The Heroine is as radiant as ever; I'll treasure it for years and years.

... How about one of SML being a cad? If he were still with us, he'd want one of those.

And one for Bomby.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...auron/Faye.jpg

One of the reasons why I'm pessimistic about my art skills is because I'm still not able to just draw people in different poses without a visual reference, and it's quite evident with this pic. I just redrew Faye just like how she was crouched there.

One of the positives about my scanner is that it scans things lighter, so most eraser marks and indentations aren't visible (some still are, look closely at her eyes), but it also kills some of the lighter colors. HotD's wings were actually supposed to be blue, and Faye's sweater was indeed colored pink, but it was lost in the transition from paper to computer.

This is also another pic where I very much would have loved to have a skin colored pencil, but alas, the only one I have, I can't even see it on the paper, let alone after I scan it. But on a positive note, I upgraded my color selection from 12 to 36.

What happened to SML anyway?

Go ahead and do one for me, bud. Interpret as you will, you've seen all the pics. And don't worry about making it look just-the-same, stick him in whatever position. Just take some risks.

^Um, yeah, the endearments are completely unnecessary and are started to get a bit weird. Like, really weird.I think you may have taken that knight thing just a little too seriously.

Another for Ace. This time, the bitchslap is personal:

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...n/SMLandZG.jpg

I threw ZG in there too, because I find it hard to imagine SML being a cad when ZG isn't around. Also a fun little joke with the slap mark on his face, although the bitchslapping has been toned down as of late. Hmm...

If you're using Photoshop, you can alter the levels/hue of the scan. I do that for my pencil scans; you can get anywhere between unholy mess of black to faintest trace of graphite. It's under Image > Adjustments > Levels; you can Google "photoshop levels" for more details. There's probably similar functionality in Paintshop Pro 6 and GIMP.

Also, SML is busy taking cad classes at cad college.

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...f_auron/AI.jpg

It didn't turn out as well as I would have liked, but it didn't come out as bad as I though it would either. Look closely at his shirt. You can see the outline of SML's arm indented into the paper. This is one disadvantage of drawing in a sketchbook as opposed to single sheets of paper or with a tablet. The idea for this one is that AI is half man, and half machine, so I just split him down the middle, with one side of him being man and the other side being machine. If you really want to be picky, you can look at his arm and common sense says that the arm shouldn't work. If you say that, shut up. I'm not too good at drawing details.

This one may be my best so far. But I must apologize ahead of time because I'm not sure this is what she had in mind when she asked me to draw her:

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...n/LadyBane.jpg

Yeah, ever heard of Bane? The Batman comic book character? Unfortunately, when I was thinking about how to draw Lady Bane, that was the only thing that came to mind. A female version of Bane. I thought the concept was neat and kind of amusing, so I went with it. I think it came out pretty well.

right, so here's my picture of you!
Sorry it took me a while =)
I had to do it for an English project so I hope you like it. =)

And my scanner messed up the shading and all somewhat.
PS. I dont color my pictures. Only shade and sketch with blunt pencil and sharp pencil. Sharp for fine lines and blunt for heavy shading.
PPS. Hope you like it =)

This one's for Mushi. I was really tempted to put a caption on the pic that said "Don't worry guys, I'm still a man," but I decided against it. Not my best, but at least I have some skin (ish) colored pencil now. You still can't see it too well, though.
