| Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2001 Location: The state of Denial Gender: Posts: 8,884 Thanks: 80 Thanked 198 Times in 122 Posts | The Adventures of Tintin For those of you who have not been enlightened, The Adventures of Tintin is a series of comic books drawn by the Belgian cartoonist Herge, first as political satire. You can still tell there are some political overtones in the series, such as how a coup changes only the soldiers wandering around in the end of Tintin and the Picaros. IMO, Tintin is one of the best comics ever made, comparable to Calvin and Hobbes, Nausicaa, Maus, and Bone. |

My libraries always placed them in the "kids" section. |

Tintin is far better than any other comic invented, even Calvin and Hobbes. It was the only comic that wasn't afraid to go into politics. I always liked "The Cigars of the Pharaoh" and anything with the Thompsons. -CSM |
