So I do newspaper cartoons.

And now you all have to see them.

I've been drawing political/opinion cartoons for the Daily Eastern News since last August and have been archiving them on Facebook since then. Cartooning is actually where I want my career to go; I feel like drawing cartoons for the DEN is a potential booster for wherever my job will be someday. I'm only going to post three comics per post, and I'll only share the ones that don't suck (I'm a little critical of my own work, give me a break.).

Clearly the undercover program needed a little work.
This is the second one I did. It's not the greatest, I could've erased the pencil lines a little better, but not bad by any stretch.

When I found out Starbucks was coming to town, all I could think about was the privately owned coffee shop I frequently hang out at. My sister works for Starbucks, so you can imagine she got a kick out of this.

If it wasn't for the overused ellipses, this one might be my favorite. On the night one of the other cartoonists was supposed to have one in, he came up to me and asked if I could submit something instead. Good thing OJ was getting himself into some s**t again.

So yeah, any comments, criticism, praise, etc. are welcome. I'll have some more up soon.

I'll say it again: I like them, you're good. Still, context humor is way cooler.

It's great to see someone on VGF aside from Ace who knows how to draw something humorous.

I used to wonder why Dylan modded the Comics forum. Oh, what a fool I was. A young, ruggedly handsome fool.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone.

This one is one of my favorites. The guy is just ripe for parody.

Almost everyone at EIU is either a Cubs fan or a White Sox fan; I'm probably one of only a handful of Cards fans. Like the comic says, I kept my mouth shut and wasn't a complete ass when the Cubbies got swept.

My mom actually asked me what Kevlar was. My dad (Who deals with firearms and everything with it on a daily basis.) and I just kind of looked at each other, then looked at my mom. We told her it was a foreign car.

I'm suprised, Dylan. I always thought you were more of a "click and drag" type of cartoonist. These comics are pretty good.

A little too busy and the caption could've been better.

For the record, the Smashing Pumpkins weren't really coming to campus.

I felt sorry for the guy, actually. Apparently, the paper took a little flak over this one, as John hadn't been publicized leading up to the concert like he should've been.

These are all little pieces of sheer genius, Dylan. I love them! Especially the starbucks one--that one made me laugh aloud, haha!

^I'm with her - you're making me genuinely laugh out loud, which is awesome, because I rarely do for comics.

^ Check the Opinions section at The Daily Eastern News on Mondays. I should have cartoons up then.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, check out the work by the other cartoonists. There's some real talent there.
