First name and last name. It's for a story I'm going to write. |

So if you want a hunter-type, you can search for a name that means "strength", or "courage". Or you could just create a fake name altogether. Say it out loud to make sure it flows nicely. ![]() |

Otherwise, I'd recommend giving him just a regular guy name, assuming you want to anchor your story in reality. Real people don't get named Maverick McAwesome. What happens if he decides to be a plumber, though? People'll call him up expecting to see him jump the Grand Canyon on a rocket-bike, and he'll just come over and snake out their drains (not innuendo). Eventually the poor boy will feel like he's undershooting everyone's expectations by being merely a great plumber. "My nomenclature demands I have at least one apocalyptic battle against hordes of leather-clad mutants out in the boonies. But I really have to hook up that new water heater at the gym...plus, I don't have a hockey stick with a machete duct-taped onto the blade. I'm a terrible action hero." |

The only joke is how detailed it was. A good one for comedy would be Staff Sergeant Dwight J. Morgan, who was a real soldier who really died in Afghanistan, & whose name was accidentally made into a joke by the single worst episode of the already horrific 7th Heaven. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |
