What has Ton been up to?

Yeah, I've been away for a while. The bulk of my time has been spent with my roommate writing and planning a graphic novel. It's a space action/comedy with crazy overarching storylines. For a look at some of the characters check this out;

SA . Halfway Heroes doodles
SA . Stardog: Reach for the Sky
SA . Alabaster you dropped your glasses. Let me hand 'em to you.

Those are some awesome sketches, Ton. Be sure to post more, and keep us updated about the project.

Amazing how much more quickly people respond here than elsewhere. Will do.

I was going to make a comment about how this sounds familiar, but on second thought, it's not similar at all to what I was thinking about.

Ace, CL, and I (and all of the other great folks who've been posting in the AL&W forum) really primed the pump for everyone. VGF's had a turn towards the positive as far as drawing has gone, IMO.

Here's my personal art topic if you want to check it out:

I really like your character designs. How much of a hand do you have in it? It's pretty awesome to have someone to work on ideas with like I do with SD and CL when we do the collabs we've been messing with.

Yeah, collaborations are much more fun than solo projects. That way you can check each other's facts and talk out plot holes/writer's block.
Well, we both write it and he's the main artist. I can draw alright, so I wanted to get a feel for the characters as well.
Also, love your style. It's very watercolor-y.

Yeah, the colors I choose usually seem to end up looking like other media, so I'm pretty happy about the PC tablet/Photoshop thing.

About collabs, here's the last one I did with CL, I'm very satisfied with the way it turned out:

I'd probably do a poster version of it on cafe press like I did for the Galefore picture, but they wouldn't let me for the principle that I don't own the rights to the characters.
