You awake to the taste of blood in your mouth. There is a pounding in your ears, and this is not what you remember. You remember.. Waiting. For what seemed like hours. You remember the high pitched squeal of the dental drill, just as it turned on. That's when they gave you the gas. After that, everything gets fuzzy. Hell, before that, everything gets fuzzy. You feel a bit nauseous as you realize that you have no recollection of your name or where you're from. For that matter, you look at your surroundings and nothing is familiar. ![]() Your lips are dry, and there is a strong smell of soil. <Input Command> How it works: You tell me what you want to do. I will look for a consensus among posts. If there is not a consensus, I will choose either what I choose to be the best command or I will choose command at random. Give commands such as <LOOK> or <LISTEN> and I will describe the surroundings or the sounds. You can modify these commands to say <LOOK AT OBJECT> and be more specific. Put your commands in the brackets as I have and I will see that they are a command. Feel free to discuss your actions in this topic with other members. You never were very good at depth perception, at least not with one eye closed. You wonder idly what you might have used it on. Looking at the small table in front of you, you spy an unlit lantern and a large key. ![]() <Input Command> How it works: You tell me what you want to do. I will look for a consensus among posts. You stuff the key into your right pocket, and hold the lantern in your left hand. You haven't got anywhere to pack it away, so this is as good as it gets. ![]() <Input Command> How it works: You tell me what you want to do. I will look for a consensus among posts. Eureka! A matchbook! You leave it in your pocket for safe keeping. You would check your back pockets, but you're certain there's nothing in them since you felt nothing in them while you were sitting on them. ![]() <Input Command> How it works: You tell me what you want to do. Before you can even begin to fumble with the keyhole, however, you realize that it does not exist. Scratching your head, you catch a glimpse of light out the window. ![]() <Input Command> How it works: You tell me what you want to do. I will look for a consensus among posts. Having moved back to the empty rear of the room where you awoke, you stand up straight and glance all around. The walls appear to be made of some form of wood, albeit they are very dirty. They give you the distinct impression that you are on the underside of a tree's root system. You wouldn't make any bets on it just yet, but the minor roots dangling down from the ceiling seem to make the impression a sure one. Included in the very strangly natural formation is a low table in the center of the room that looks every part man-made, save the base of which is actually implanted in the ground. Across the room on the far wall is a man-sized wooden door. The door contains a paned window, and has a single tarnished knob upon it. The window would be the room's only light source, if it weren't for a strange phosphorous glow illuminating the ceiling. ![]() <Input Command> How it works: You tell me what you want to do. "You can never be too sure of yourself around a door. They are a wiley and crude folk," You recall your grandmother once saying. Well, that's what she might've said, if you could manage to remember having a grandmother Closing your clammy palm over the grubby knob, you give it a sharp twist, and the door opens outwards. No fireworks here, folks. You stand at the precipice of the room, unsure if it would be wise to proceed into an unknown environment. ![]() <Input Command> How it works: You tell me what you want to do.
