Val tries to paint

This is something I did more than a month ago, as a gift for a special friend of mine. Sorry for the poor quality, the picture had to be taken by camera. It's still life, done in acryllics... Notable because it's the first painting I've ever done that doesn't suck.

Painting is something I've been interested in for a while, so I plan on trying it more and hopefully improving. Suggestions? Critique?

Those are some great paintings. Why did you say "trying"? I am really impressed by it.

*sigh* I am a DECENT artist, but my drawngs are kinda half-assed.

By the way, is blue the only color you had for the guys skin? Or is it the lighting in the scene?
