There's really no decent pre-planned palette system in most art software like Photoshop, just some tools to make choosing shades and tones a bit easier. Keeping that in mind; Particletree » Show Me The Colors I was just thinking about trying to cut down the time I spend coordinating colors, and I think this is a good index of color-idea related sites that can help you get the ball rolling. Some of the links might be dead, but it's a start. Anyone else have anything they prefer to pull colors from? Photos, magazines, etc? I know this isn't bottom-level stuff, but decent color choices can improve even the most rudimentary attempts at art. If you really want to take it to a new level, there's a few apps around that are brilliant for choosing palettes: ColorSchemer | Instant Color Schemes is a place to start. |
