The comic started out on a forum where he accepted the first command he was given. This first "adventure" was called Jailbreak. It was mainly a hobby of his and was eventually abandoned. Hussie moved on to a new adventure which he called Bard Quest. The format of this one was slightly different, with multiple paths that branched out, much like a more traditional choose your own adventure story. It turned out that this idea was a bit too ambitious and he abandoned it as well. This brings us to the next adventure, started nearly a year after Bard Quest. Problem Sleuth was the adventure that really kicked off MSPA's fame. It lasted for a whole year and spawned many in-jokes and catchphrases that are continually used in MSPA. It was fairly popular and lasted an entire year. After ending Problem Sleuth, Hussie took a short break before tackling his next big idea with the Homestuck BETA. Homestuck was originally planned to be made entirely in Flash, but Hussie realized quickly that this task was unfeasible with what he wanted to do. After 3 days, Hussie returned to Problem Sleuth's combined drawing and animated GIF style. However, Hussie had liked the Flash idea and decided to incorporate it into Homestuck for pages that he felt needed the extra amount of animation effort. Homestuck has been running for nearly 1 and 1/3 years now and is on Act 5 of 7. Act 5 is drawing to a close, so I suggest getting started now! > VGF Forumgoer: Read Homestuck |

But, sweet heaven, it's loooong. I remember spending an entire weekend reading Problem Sleuth, and it wasn't even done yet. My mind started to... give. |

In retrospect, I should probably just let that guy do it because he is the king, but I'd like to bring my sense of mystery and exploration back to it some day. |

What I find most amazing by far is how fast this guy updates. Just today I was looking through some of the earlier stuff. It's pretty cool to see the progression. I have a hard time watching the flashes he changed the music on though. |

Didn't really go anywhere story wise, but still fun to watch. We hadn't really gotten to see the trolls in action before this. On the subject of the music, I should clarify: It's not that the new songs are bad. Some might even be better than the originals from a purely musical point of view. My issue with them is that none of them fit their respective animations as well as the originals, which is only natural since the animations were actually made to sync up with the originals. Just look at this new flash. The visuals and music synch up perfectly. Whatever the music is doing, the animation is doing too. The old flashes used to be like that too, but unfortunately most of that was lost and now the new pieces are just in the background instead of setting the pace. Of course it's nobody's fault but the jackass that did the original songs, since he freaked out on Andrew. It's just unfortunate, that's all. |
