I Write Like Find something you've written (preferably a few paragraphs, not just a sentence or two) and paste it into this analyzer, and it will compare your writing to numerous famous authors to see which one you write like. Some crap I wrote six years ago reads like Isaac Asimov, brilliant scientist and author of the Foundation and Robot series. Some crap I wrote three years ago apparently reads like Vladimir Nabokov, the dude who wrote Lolita. My review for Skyward Sword is similar to the writing of Dan Brown, the crazy guy who wrote The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons. It seems my writing keeps getting worse and worse over time. |

I wish there were some way I could apologise to those worthies for such wicked slander. Last edited by Booyakasha; 02-02-2012 at 01:46 AM. |

I can see some linguistic similarities, but it's a stretch. Talking about building up the nerve to call a girl, about refusing to become an hero, & about Facebook-stalking apparently likens me to Cory Doctorow. My obsession with nomenclature & bad guys who are actually bad...& my Last Airbender review (!?) make me sound like Lovecraft. Somehow me discussing cussing without actually doing it sounds like Vladmir Nabokov. My chronicle of the Amanda Bynes Twitter Retirement Saga of 2010 got me P.G. Wodehouse, who really seems like the most accurate comparison so far. Oh, & I intentionally submitted a page from A Series of Unfortunate Events to see if Snicket came up....instead it got Gertrude Stein. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

I had fun with this once before. Let's see the new results. From the beginning part of my soon-to-be-released short story, "Harvest", I got H.G. Wells, then from the ending of "Harvest", I got H.P. Lovecraft. *cackle* That's a pretty good result. From my current work in progress, a novella, I got Arthur Clarke! Again, well fitted. And from the first novel of my dark fantasy series, I got... NEIL GAIMAN. So much win. Oh yeah. ![]() |

They fan flames of death while playing hopscotch with twelve hungry diabetics. Two donkeys come into play with a jar of mayonnaise and begin to farm apricots on the far side of the moon, while Wong Fei-Hung performs his shadowless kick on a convicted rapist. and got Neil Gaiman. |

Dunno how it came to that conclusion. I'm not sure how reliable this thing is: writing 'work of art' 39 times gets me Oscar Wilde, but writing it 38 times gets me Lovecraft. I took the third paragraph of an essay I wrote in my blog and got William Gibson. I took the first paragraph from the same essay and got H.P. Lovecraft. I took the whole damn thing and got Margaret Atwood. |

My parody of slam poetry got Lovecraft again. Entries 1-3 of my friendship suite got Daniel Defoe (?), Lewis Carroll, &...Dan Brown ( ), respectively.Entries 4 & 5 of my friendship suite got James Joyce & Doctorow again, respectively. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

Some crappy poem I wrote five years ago reads like James Joyce, Irish novelist and poet of the early 20th century. Some crappy poem I wrote three years ago reads like Anne Rice, weird Christian vampire sex author. Yep, still getting worse. |

Tolkien. The term paper I wrote for my religious studies class last semester apparently is similar to H.P. Lovecraft. I tried two separate selections from the paper and got the same result. ...And apparently a poem analysis I wrote for my Celtic Literature class ALSO reads like H.P. Lovecraft. I guess my essays all sound like him x{D My casual writing/notes/thoughts, unedited just as I let them come out, are written like Dan Brown. I tried a few different selections from notes, brainstorms, ideas, etc. this is fun [edit: I put the text in this post in the analyzer and got H.P. Lovecraft again. lol] --- ok seriously I've tried a bunch of different stuff I've written and I get NOTHING but these three dudes, mostly Lovecraft and Brown x{D |
