Gender: Posts: 5,843 Thanks: 6 Thanked 206 Times in 132 Posts | I don't like the new Rock Meter I don't like the new Rock Meter for a couple of reasons: 1) I don't like it how instead of good being solid green, middle being solid yellow, and bad being solid red, it progressively changes colors. That's not good when you want to know how you're doing but your in a hard section where you can't actually take a full look at the meter. I tell ya, that yellow turns mighty orange mighty fast and I can never tell if i'm still in the middle or if I'm about to lose. It doesn't help that it doesn't start flashing until your one missed note away from failing. And why is the needle so damn SMALL? 2) This one might be just me, but I'm pretty sure the rock meter is waaaaaaaaay less forgiving than it was in the past. I'm pretty damn sure I'm hitting more notes than I've ever been hitting in the past, but it always seems like the rock meter likes to take a dive anyway. And starpower hardly seems to be as effective as it used to be. I tell ya, in Raining Blood, I'm hitting about 75% of those notes, yet the meter is dropping like I'm hitting 25% of them. Speaking of which, I'm not too particularly fond of how Neversoft programmed missed noted into the game, either. I mean, how do you tell if you missed them? The music rarely stops, they have next to no sounds indicatiing a missed note, the fret board doesn't shake, and the flames you see when you hit a note are barely visible anyway. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good game, it's just that when you're on the harder songs and you seem to be failing for inexplicable reasons, wouldn't you be a little angry at them for screwing around with some of the basic elements that made GH amazing in the first place? |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | I agree, it's kind of annoying. For me, it's just the case that the visual response is different I have to relearn a new interface, even though GHII was fine. It's that developers need to justify releasing a new game; they can't just slap down new content, but new designs also need to be made for some reason. =P |

The new Rock Meter makes me feel like I need to activate the star power just because I'm not in the green. It's just that sloppy. On another note, I also prefer the old star power meter too. |
